In the spring of 2017, at a release party for his book: 'Sometimes Brilliant' he sketched out his extraordinary voyage from civil rights movement, to medical training to helping out as physician during the occupation of Alcatraz by the Indians of All Tribes.



In the Bay Area Larry Brilliant connected with the psychedelic and music counterculture, and followed the hippie trail from London over the Khyber Pass to India – with his wife Elaine, Wavy Gravy and the Hog Farm commune.



One of India’s best known spiritual teachers, Neem Karoli Baba, told him his destiny was to work for the World Health Organization to help eradicate smallpox. Larry Brilliant became a key participant in eliminating that 10,000-year-old disease that killed half a billion people in the 20th century alone. Smallpox was declared eradicated in 1980.



On March 24, 2020, Larry Brilliant was interviewed by Dr. Daniel Kraft, Chair for Medicine, Singularity University



Brilliant currently serves as the Chairman of the Advisory Board for Ending Pandemics. He also works with the charitable organizations launched by the major technology corporations such as Google and the Skoll Group.

A hallmark of the novel coronavirus COVID-19 is that it infects the upper respiratory tract accompanied by shortness of breath, a chronic cough and frequently chills, fever and fatigue. However, these are symptoms similar but not limited to many other viral infections, including other strains of CoV, avian and swine flu, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), picornaviruses, etc.



The conventional war chest for arming ourselves against respiratory infections are drugs that can lessen the severity of these symptoms and hopefully will kill the virus to prevent it from worsening. But pharmaceutical medications are not the only recourse we can rely upon. There are non-toxic supplements, medicinal botanicals and common sense actions people can adopt to protect themselves. Consequently, even if infected by COVID-19 or another respiratory virus, our immune system can be strengthened naturally to dramatically reduce the risks of serious complications.



At the moment, the primary dispensers of information about the pandemic is the White House, the CDC, the National Institutes of Allergies and Infectious Disease (NIAID) and the World Health Organization (WHO). The mainstream media and state and local health officials have been completely relying upon comments and reports from these sources to inform or education the public. However, what is not being communicated are the clinical experiences and scientific advice from around the world that contain valuable information and analyses to share. In China, Europe, Japan, and the US there are tens of thousands or more physicians and medical professionals using alternative modalities such as nutritional therapy, naturopathy and Traditional Chinese Medicine to further protect patients from respiratory infections alongside or to complement conventional drug protocols.



Unfortunately none of these non-conventional doctors and professionals are being asked for their consultation nor is the large body of scientific literature that supports their regimens being recommended. We are referring to studies published in respected journals and research conducted by important centers of medical investigation. The question, therefore, is why has a contingent of people on the frontlines of prevention and complementary approaches to health been completely marginalized from the community of so-called “experts” who dominate the voices in the media?

Why is the American public being told there is no cure for AIDS

Today, AIDS is still a major epidemic, killing more than 17,000 Americans every year. So if a proven cure really exists (and it does!) why isn’t it big news? Why are the pharmaceutical industry, the American Medical Association, the federal government, and mainstream media all conspiring to deny that such a cure exists?



A cynical person might say it is because treating AIDS patients (i.e., mitigating their symptoms, but not curing the disease itself) is very profitable, whereas curing patients so they no longer need treatment, is not profitable – because it eliminates a huge revenue stream. How huge is that revenue stream? At an average yearly cost of $39,000 per patient for drugs, treating the 1.2 million Americans who currently suffer from AIDS adds up to $40 billion a year for the pharmaceutical industry. And that doesn’t even include doctor fees and hospital costs, which could double that amount.



So perhaps it is not surprising that those who profit from treating AIDS would not welcome a cure that might deplete their bank accounts by as much as $80 billion a year. Which is why 17,000 Americans will be dead within the next 12 months, even though many could be totally cured – and 100% HIV-free — paying $39,000 a year for AIDS drugs. And without risking the life-threatening reactions that those dangerous antiviral drug treatments can impose on AIDS sufferers.



Who is the man who discovered a cure for AIDS – and what happened when he brought his cure to the attention of the medical profession? The story of a young medical researcher, a PhD graduate named Gary Null, who discovered the cure for AIDS more than 40 years ago – only to see his life-saving discovery denied and suppressed by the medical and pharmaceutical establishment — is a shameful episode in medical history, which has resulted in needless agony and death for more than 675,000 Americans who did not have to die...

Of particular significance is the fact that the Golden Lily loot and the decisive political and economic factors stemming from the material covered in 'Gold Warriors,' the other books by Sterling and Peggy Seagrave, and Ms. Chang’s “The Rape of Nanking” have enormous and ongoing significance.



In November of 2004, author and investigator Iris Chang was found dead of an allegedly self-inflicted gunshot wound. This program examines the circumstances surrounding her death…

The COVID-19 coronavirus disease pandemic has cast in deadly high relief that the United States, the richest country on Earth has a dysfunctional health care system. One should not even call it a system. “It’s unimaginable,” a CNN anchor commented upon seeing footage of hospital tents in New York’s Central Park and a refrigerator truck loading up corpses in Brooklyn. The reports of shortages of everything from testing kits to ventilators to masks to gloves to hospital beds boggle the mind. Where was the preparation? And now where is the coordination? States and countries are competing against one another. Viruses do not recognize borders. Collective global action is the only way forward. Universal medical protocols must be in place. An international public health infrastructure is urgently needed or the next pandemic will make this one look like a picnic.



Stephen Bezruchka is Senior Lecturer in the Department of Global Health at the University of Washington. He worked for many years as an emergency physician in Seattle.
