County of Los Angeles — a knee-on-neck police death case which established that police officers who intentionally cause harm cannot offset their own liability with their victims’ negligence. The case has been referred to “George Floyd without video.” And in 2018, A.G. v. County of Los Angeles which established that non-biological children have standing in California to sue for the wrongful death of persons who raise them as parents.

3-4 Jennifer Hendricks, ‘’Roe v. Wade & the Supreme Court’’
Program #HENJ001. Recorded in Boulder, CO on February 24, 2022.
Roe v. Wade, the landmark 1973 Supreme Court decision which established a constitutional right to abortion is under attack. The Supreme Court with its super-conservative majority is poised to overturn Roe. According to an editorial in Against the Current: “Poll after poll reveals that the right to abortion care actually has more popular support today than when Roe v. Wade was decided. If that right can be mutilated now, precedent and public opinion be damned, then no rights are secure from reactionary assault. For right-wing sharks getting rid of Roe is blood in the water.” The New York Times estimates more than 20 states “are expected to ban or substantially restrict abortion if the Supreme Court permits it.” However, some states like Colorado are going in the opposite direction, passing legislation legalizing the right to an abortion.
Jennifer Hendricks is a Professor of Law and Co-Director of the Juvenile and Family Law Program at the University of Colorado. She is the author of the essay “Abortion Rights in the Supreme Court: A Tale of Three Wedges.”

In a four-hour interview, Megyn Kelly and Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. dive deep into Kennedy’s “controversial” opinions on Dr. Anthony Fauci and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and why Kennedy has become “something of a pariah among mainstream media” in the COVID-19 era.
Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., chairman and chief legal counsel of Children’s Health Defense, joined journalist and attorney Megyn Kelly on “The Megyn Kelly Show” in what she calls her longest interview ever.
Kelly called the four-hour interview “an important conversation about public health, the agencies in charge and whether we have been getting the protection we deserve from those we fund with our tax dollars.”
Part 1 of the conversation — a two-hour segment titled “Fauci, Vaccines, and Big Pharma’s Power” — is a deep dive into Kennedy’s positions, achievements and personal history, and how these connect to his views on the environment and politics.
Kelly and Kennedy discussed Big Pharma, tech censorship, Bill Gates, COVID-19, Kennedy’s new book, “The Real Anthony Fauci” and what Kelly called “the global war on democracy and public health.”
Kelly recognizes that some of Kennedy’s positions are considered “controversial.” She said, “we want our audience to hear this discussion but to understand where Robert and his critics most differ.”
Kennedy acknowledged that he’s become something of a pariah among mainstream media outlets in the COVID era.
“You’re very brave to have me on,” Kennedy told Kelly, “because you saw what they did to Joe Rogan for having … Dr. [Robert] Malone on … and I’m the only worse person than Dr. Malone. … Joe Rogan wouldn’t put me on.”

FTR#1231 How Many Lies Before You Belong to The Lie?, Part 4

This program continues analysis of the war in Ukraine.
As mentioned by Mr. Emory in the last program, the war and its attendant coverage has had the effect of the mythological “Philosophers’ Stone” of the alchemists, creating an alchemical transformation of this country, its political culture and citizenry, the EU and UK, their political cultures and citizenry and much of the world into the Orwellian historical perversion being enacted by the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory.
In numerous broadcasts, we have noted the Orwellian rewrite of Ukrainian history to deny the perpetrators of the Holocaust in that country and whitewash the Nazi-allied OUN/B and UPA.
An article in Foreign Policy (published by “The Washington Post” and consequently VERY mainstream), further develops the activities of Volodymyr Viatrovych, appointed as head of the Institute of National memory by Viktor Yuschenko and then re-appointed by Petro Petroshenko.
After the Yushcneko government left power and prior to the Maidan coup, Viatrovych was in the U.S., working as a fellow at Harvard University’s Ukrainian Research Institute. This is in line with the fundamental role of the OUN/B‑based American emigre community in the generation of the Orange Revolution and the Maidan coup.
” . . . . During this period Viatrovych spent time in North America on a series of lecture tours, as well as a short sojourn as a research fellow at the Harvard Ukrainian Research Institute (HURI). He also continued his academic activism, writing books and articles promoting the heroic narrative of the OUN-UPA. In 2013 he tried to crash and disrupt a workshop on Ukrainian and Russian nationalism taking place at the Harriman Institute at Columbia. When the Maidan Revolution swept Yanukovych out of power in February 2014, Viatrovych returned to prominence. . . .”
Recall that Yuschenko married the former Ykaterina Chumachenko–Reagan’s Deputy Director of Public Liaison and a key operative of the OUN/B’s American front organiztion the U.C.C.A.–and had Roman Zvarych (Jaroslav Stetsko’s personal secretary in the early 1980’s) as his Minister of Justice.
Note, also, that Serhiy Kvit, the Ukrainian Minister of Education is a bird of the same feather as Viatrovych. ” .
. . . . Last June, Kvit’s Ministry of Education issued a directive to teachers regarding the “necessity to accentuate the patriotism and morality of the activists of the liberation movement,” including depicting the UPA as a ‘symbol of patriotism and sacrificial spirit in the struggle for an independent Ukraine” and Bandera as an ‘outstanding representative’ of the Ukrainian people. . . .’ ”
The measure of the revisionism underway in Ukraine can be gauged by this: “. . . . UPA supreme commander Dmytro Kliachkivs’kyi explicitly stated: ‘We should carry out a large-scale liquidation action against Polish elements. During the evacuation of the German Army, we should find an appropriate moment to liquidate the entire male population between 16 and 60 years old.’ Given that over 70 percent of the leading UPA cadres possessed a background as Nazi collaborators, none of this is surprising. . . .”
It is depressing and remarkable to see such elements being portrayed as “heroic!”
Additional perspective on the physical, political and historical reality underlying Viatrovych’s revisionism is the massacre of the 600 residents of the Polish town of Janowa Dolina by the UPA. ” . . . . On the night of April 22–23 (Good Friday), 1943, the Ukrainians from the Ukrainian Insurgent Army, together with local peasants, attacked Janowa Dolina. Some 600 people, including children and the elderly, were brutally murdered (see Massacres of Poles in Volhynia). Most homes were burned to the ground and the settlement deserted. The perpetrators, commanded by Ivan Lytwynchuk (aka Dubowy) exercised rare cruelty. Poles, unprepared and caught by surprise, were hacked to death with axes, burned alive, and impaled (including children). The murderers did not spare anyone, regardless of age and sex. German garrison, numbering around 100 soldiers, did not act and remained in its barracks. After the first wave of murders, the Ukrainian nationalists started searching the hospital. They carried its Ukrainian patients away from the building, while Polish patients were burned alive.[2] Dr Aleksander Bakinowski, together with his assistant Jan Borysowicz, were hacked to death on the square in front of the hospital. In several cases, Ukrainians were murdered for trying to hide their Polish neighbours. Petro Mirchuk, Ukrainian historian, counted several hundred massacred Poles, with only eight UPA members killed. . . .”
The overall them of this series is encapsulated in a letter from Glenn Pinchback–an Operations Officer at Fort Sill, Oklahoma to Jim Garrison in connection with the latter’s investigation of the assassination of JFK.
. . . . Garrison also obtained a transcript of a letter written by Ferrie to Baragona. Next to Baragona’s name, Garrison wrote: “Note Baragona is important.” The letter had been sent to Garrison by Glenn Pinchback, and a carbon copy was sent to Mendel Rivers, a congressman from Georgia. (Pinchback worked in the Operations Command at Fort Sill, where he intercepted mail.) In the letter, Ferrie shared his dream of the re-unification of Germany and living in a world where all the currency was in Deutschmarks. Pinchback’s summation of the letter described a “Neo-Nazi plot to enslave America in the name of anti-Communism,” and “a neo-Nazi plot gargantuan in scope.”
In conclusion, the feelings I have are best expressed through a poem I have read in a number of programs:

John Mearsheimer is Professor of Political Science at the University of Chicago, where he has taught since 1982. He has written extensively about security issues and international politics. He begins by asking – who caused the current crisis.

This is a passionate appeal for peace by the former academic and Minister of Finance. After resigning from the Greek government in 2015 Yanis Varoufakis did not return to academia. He is now engaged in European politics as a visionary speaker, writer, and active participant. In February 2016, he launched the Democracy in Europe Movement and is active in the building, social justice and financial goal setting of the European Union and holds a parliamentary seat since July 2019.
The first clip is Varoufakis’ message for peace in Ukraine to the Progressive International. Varoufakis records from his kitchen for the meeting on March 9, 2022.
On Mar 6, 2022, the British comedian and YouTuber with a following of over 5 million invited Varoufakis for a conversation about peace in Ukraine. Russell Brand gave it the title: ‘So THIS Is Why Ukraine Is Being Attacked’ and after a brief introduction turned the broadcast over to Varoufakis.
Varoufakis recommendations on how to bring about peace in Ukraine are widely supported in Europe. Since the future of NATO is crucial in negotiations for peace and there is so much disagreement over NATO’s history and the power plays in the background, this program ends with quotes from a twitter feed @RnaudBertrand. Arnaud Bertrand hosts a crowd sourced collection of critical comments on NATO under the title: ‘How Western Strategic Thinkers Warned US-NATO over Ukrainian Conflict.’
Strategic thinkers include historian, economists and politicians such as Clinton’s defense secretary William Perry; Noam Chomsky; and CIA director Bill Burns, and and all are backed by video or text links. The collection ends with then Senator Joe Biden who held a different opinion on NATO’s potential threat to Putin in 1997.

A. Cooper Drury is Senior Associate Dean of the College of Arts and Science and Professor of Political Science at the University of Missouri. He is author of “Neo-Kantianism and Coercive Diplomacy: The Complex Case of Economic Sanctions” and “Media-driven Humanitarianism? News Media Coverage of Human Rights Abuses and the Use of Economic Sanctions.”
Timothy Peterson is Associate Professor in the School of Politics and Global Studies at Arizona State University. He is author of “Sanctions and Alternate Markets: How Preexisting Trade and Alliances Affect the Onset of Economic Coercion.” And the forthcoming “Does Punishing Sanctions Busters Work? In an interview with former BlackRock advisor Edward Dowd on “RFK Jr. The Defender Podcast,” Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. and Dowd discussed the financial and moral implications of fraudulent data from the COVID-19 vaccine trials.
Dowd, a managing director with BlackRock from 2002 to 2012, said, “what tipped me off to the fraud” was when the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
announced it wouldn’t release the trial data for 75 years. He knew something wasn’t right.
Dowd told Kennedy:
“The FDA is in on the cover-up, something went down. The other tip for me was in November of last year, a friend of mine from the biotech industry discovered that Pfizer had failed their all-cause mortality endpoint. And that was not available to us when this fanfare occurred in November of 2020, when they all got excited about 95% efficacy.”
Dowd concluded, “the FDA didn’t really look at this clinical trial data” yet rushed it through due to political pressure or “maybe straight-up bribes,” but either way, he said, the vaccines should have never been approved.’’
Kennedy and Dowd discussed how the trial numbers were skewed to make it seem the vaccines were effective when the real data showed otherwise…’’

Continuing analysis of the Ukraine War and the ascent of the OUN/B Nazi collaborators to positions of power in Ukraine, we note the following:
1.–Actor Ashton Kutcher tweeted support for Ukraine, where his wife, Mila Kunis, was born.
2.–”. . . . A Member of the Ukrainian Parliament from the far-right Svoboda Party [Igor Miroshnichenko] … sneeringly proclaimed that [Kunis] was not Ukrainian but a zhydovka. This deeply hurtful slur for a Jew was an alarming gutter effort to inject Jew-hatred into the acceptable bounds of mainstream Ukrainian discourse. . . .”
3.–Many key ministerial posts in the new Ukrainian government have been filled by Swoboda and Pravy Sektor, the political heirs to the OUN/B. The supervision of the military and the judicial process is under the sway of those parties. ” . . . . The man facing down Putin’s aggression as secretary of the Ukrainian National Security and Defence Council is Andriy Parubiy. He oversees national security for the nation having previously served as security commandant during the anti-government protests in Kiev. . . . Overseeing the armed forces alongside Parubiy as the Deputy Secretary of National Security is Dmytro Yarosh, the leader of the Right Sector . . . .The new Deputy Prime Minister Oleksandr Sych is a member of the far-right Svoboda party . . . . Svoboda now controls the ecology and agricultural ministry with Andriy Mokhnyk, the deputy head of Svoboda, running ecology and Ihor Shvaika as agriculture minister. . . . ‘There are seven ministers with links to the extreme right now. It began with Svoboda getting 10 per cent of the vote in the last election, it is certainly a concern in the long run.’ . . . . Svoboda member Oleh Makhnitsky is now acting prosecutor general. . . .”
4.–Vasily Vovk (the Ukrainian intelligence officer in charge of the investigation of the shoot-down of MH 17) summed up the findings of his “investigation”: ” . . . . ‘I am confident that this missile system was delivered from the territory of the Russian Federation with a high-skilled crew — most likely a crew of well-trained officers, of course from Russian territory,’ he said. . . .”
5.–A more complete understanding of Vovk’s political inclinations can be gleaned from this: ” . . . .Vovk – a general who holds a senior reserve rank with the Security Service of Ukraine, the local successor to the KGB – wrote that Jews ‘aren’t Ukrainians and I will destroy you along with [Ukrainian oligarch and Jewish lawmaker Vadim] Rabinovych. I’m telling you one more time – go to hell, zhidi [kikes], the Ukrainian people have had it to here with you.’ ‘Ukraine must be governed by Ukrainians,’ he wrote. . . .”
6.–The Azov Battalion’s National Druzhyna militia was awarded the job of election monitoring by the Ukrainian government in their recent elections. ” . . . . They are the ultranationalist National Militia, street vigilantes with roots in the battle-tested Azov Battalion that emerged to defend Ukraine against Russia-backed separatists but was also accused of possible war crimes and neo-Nazi sympathies. Yet despite the controversy surrounding it, the National Militia was granted permission by the Central Election Commission to officially monitor Ukraine’s presidential election on March 31. . . .”
7.–Azov has gained influence within the Ministry of the Interior through Vadim Troyan, the former deputy commander of Azov who is now deputy minister of the interior. ” . . . . The deputy minister of the Interior—which controls the National Police—is Vadim Troyan, a veteran of Azov and Patriot of Ukraine. . . . Today, he’s deputy of the department running US-trained law enforcement in the entire nation. Earlier this month, RFE reported on National Police leadership admiring Stepan Bandera—a Nazi collaborator and Fascist whose troops participated in the Holocaust—on social media. The fact that Ukraine’s police is peppered with far-right supporters explains why neo-Nazis operate with impunity on the streets. . . .”
8.–There has been a series of suspicious deaths of opposition political figures and critics of the Poroshenko/Maidan regime in Ukraine. One wonders of the “European Union values” supposedly being manifested in Ukraine includes systematic political assassination of the opposition, a possibility that must be considered in this context. Recall that the deputy commander of the Azov Battalion became chief of police in Kiev in this time frame.
9.–There is no more significant aspect of the “Azov manifestation” than the Azov-sponsored ISG conferences, which have included national security figures from neighboring countries who–apparently–share Azov’s geopolitical orientation. ” . . . . a large share of the foreign speakers from Poland, Lithuania, and Croatia had a (para-)military background, among them advisor to the Polish Defence Minister Jerzy Targalski and retired Brigadier General of the Croatian Armed Forces Bruno Zorica.[156] Among the talking points of Polish military educator Damien Duda were ‘methods of the preparation of a military reserve in youth organizations’ and the ‘importance of paramilitary structures within the framework of the defence complex of a modern state.’ . . . It also included ‘military attaches of diplomatic missions from the key countries in the region (Poland, Hungary, Romania and Lithuania). . . .”
10.–In numerous broadcasts, we have noted the Orwellian rewrite of Ukrainian history to deny the perpetrators of the Holocaust in that country and whitewash the Nazi-allied OUN/B and UPA. We conclude the program with introductory discussion of the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory. We will continue with this analysis in the next program.

This is a passionate appeal for peace by the former academic and Minister of Finance. After resigning from the Greek government in 2015 Yanis Varoufakis did not return to academia. He is now engaged in European politics as a visionary speaker, writer, and active participant. In February 2016, he launched the Democracy in Europe Movement and is active in the building, social justice and financial goal setting of the European Union and holds a parliamentary seat since July 2019.
The first clip is Varoufakis’ message for peace in Ukraine to the Progressive International. Varoufakis records from his kitchen for the meeting on March 9, 2022.
On Mar 6, 2022, the British comedian and YouTuber with a following of over 5 million invited Varoufakis for a conversation about peace in Ukraine. Russell Brand gave it the title: ‘So THIS Is Why Ukraine Is Being Attacked’ and after a brief introduction turned the broadcast over to Varoufakis.
Varoufakis recommendations on how to bring about peace in Ukraine are widely supported in Europe. Since the future of NATO is crucial in negotiations for peace and there is so much disagreement over NATO’s history and the power plays in the background, this program ends with quotes from a twitter feed @RnaudBertrand. Arnaud Bertrand hosts a crowd sourced collection of critical comments on NATO under the title: ‘How Western Strategic Thinkers Warned US-NATO over Ukrainian Conflict.’
Strategic thinkers include historian, economists and politicians such as Clinton’s defense secretary William Perry; Noam Chomsky; and CIA director Bill Burns, and and all are backed by video or text links. The collection ends with then Senator Joe Biden who held a different opinion on NATO’s potential threat to Putin in 1997.

In an interview with former BlackRock advisor Edward Dowd on “RFK Jr. The Defender Podcast,” Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. and Dowd discussed the financial and moral implications of fraudulent data from the COVID-19 vaccine trials.
Dowd, a managing director with BlackRock from 2002 to 2012, said, “what tipped me off to the fraud” was when the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
announced it wouldn’t release the trial data for 75 years. He knew something wasn’t right.
Dowd told Kennedy:
“The FDA is in on the cover-up, something went down. The other tip for me was in November of last year, a friend of mine from the biotech industry discovered that Pfizer had failed their all-cause mortality endpoint. And that was not available to us when this fanfare occurred in November of 2020, when they all got excited about 95% efficacy.”
Dowd concluded, “the FDA didn’t really look at this clinical trial data” yet rushed it through due to political pressure or “maybe straight-up bribes,” but either way, he said, the vaccines should have never been approved.’’
Kennedy and Dowd discussed how the trial numbers were skewed to make it seem the vaccines were effective when the real data showed otherwise…’’

Continuing analysis of the Ukraine War and the ascent of the OUN/B Nazi collaborators to positions of power in Ukraine, we note the following:
1.–Actor Ashton Kutcher tweeted support for Ukraine, where his wife, Mila Kunis, was born.
2.–”. . . . A Member of the Ukrainian Parliament from the far-right Svoboda Party [Igor Miroshnichenko] … sneeringly proclaimed that [Kunis] was not Ukrainian but a zhydovka. This deeply hurtful slur for a Jew was an alarming gutter effort to inject Jew-hatred into the acceptable bounds of mainstream Ukrainian discourse. . . .”
3.–Many key ministerial posts in the new Ukrainian government have been filled by Swoboda and Pravy Sektor, the political heirs to the OUN/B. The supervision of the military and the judicial process is under the sway of those parties. ” . . . . The man facing down Putin’s aggression as secretary of the Ukrainian National Security and Defence Council is Andriy Parubiy. He oversees national security for the nation having previously served as security commandant during the anti-government protests in Kiev. . . . Overseeing the armed forces alongside Parubiy as the Deputy Secretary of National Security is Dmytro Yarosh, the leader of the Right Sector . . . .The new Deputy Prime Minister Oleksandr Sych is a member of the far-right Svoboda party . . . . Svoboda now controls the ecology and agricultural ministry with Andriy Mokhnyk, the deputy head of Svoboda, running ecology and Ihor Shvaika as agriculture minister. . . . ‘There are seven ministers with links to the extreme right now. It began with Svoboda getting 10 per cent of the vote in the last election, it is certainly a concern in the long run.’ . . . . Svoboda member Oleh Makhnitsky is now acting prosecutor general. . . .”
4.–Vasily Vovk (the Ukrainian intelligence officer in charge of the investigation of the shoot-down of MH 17) summed up the findings of his “investigation”: ” . . . . ‘I am confident that this missile system was delivered from the territory of the Russian Federation with a high-skilled crew — most likely a crew of well-trained officers, of course from Russian territory,’ he said. . . .”
5.–A more complete understanding of Vovk’s political inclinations can be gleaned from this: ” . . . .Vovk – a general who holds a senior reserve rank with the Security Service of Ukraine, the local successor to the KGB – wrote that Jews ‘aren’t Ukrainians and I will destroy you along with [Ukrainian oligarch and Jewish lawmaker Vadim] Rabinovych. I’m telling you one more time – go to hell, zhidi [kikes], the Ukrainian people have had it to here with you.’ ‘Ukraine must be governed by Ukrainians,’ he wrote. . . .”
6.–The Azov Battalion’s National Druzhyna militia was awarded the job of election monitoring by the Ukrainian government in their recent elections. ” . . . . They are the ultranationalist National Militia, street vigilantes with roots in the battle-tested Azov Battalion that emerged to defend Ukraine against Russia-backed separatists but was also accused of possible war crimes and neo-Nazi sympathies. Yet despite the controversy surrounding it, the National Militia was granted permission by the Central Election Commission to officially monitor Ukraine’s presidential election on March 31. . . .”
7.–Azov has gained influence within the Ministry of the Interior through Vadim Troyan, the former deputy commander of Azov who is now deputy minister of the interior. ” . . . . The deputy minister of the Interior—which controls the National Police—is Vadim Troyan, a veteran of Azov and Patriot of Ukraine. . . . Today, he’s deputy of the department running US-trained law enforcement in the entire nation. Earlier this month, RFE reported on National Police leadership admiring Stepan Bandera—a Nazi collaborator and Fascist whose troops participated in the Holocaust—on social media. The fact that Ukraine’s police is peppered with far-right supporters explains why neo-Nazis operate with impunity on the streets. . . .”
8.–There has been a series of suspicious deaths of opposition political figures and critics of the Poroshenko/Maidan regime in Ukraine. One wonders of the “European Union values” supposedly being manifested in Ukraine includes systematic political assassination of the opposition, a possibility that must be considered in this context. Recall that the deputy commander of the Azov Battalion became chief of police in Kiev in this time frame.
9.–There is no more significant aspect of the “Azov manifestation” than the Azov-sponsored ISG conferences, which have included national security figures from neighboring countries who–apparently–share Azov’s geopolitical orientation. ” . . . . a large share of the foreign speakers from Poland, Lithuania, and Croatia had a (para-)military background, among them advisor to the Polish Defence Minister Jerzy Targalski and retired Brigadier General of the Croatian Armed Forces Bruno Zorica.[156] Among the talking points of Polish military educator Damien Duda were ‘methods of the preparation of a military reserve in youth organizations’ and the ‘importance of paramilitary structures within the framework of the defence complex of a modern state.’ . . . It also included ‘military attaches of diplomatic missions from the key countries in the region (Poland, Hungary, Romania and Lithuania). . . .”
10.–In numerous broadcasts, we have noted the Orwellian rewrite of Ukrainian history to deny the perpetrators of the Holocaust in that country and whitewash the Nazi-allied OUN/B and UPA. We conclude the program with introductory discussion of the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory. We will continue with this analysis in the next program.

As of Sunday morning we are at $196.705 with our goal of $200,000. (you can still pledge at kpfk.org to help fill in the empty space). ‘Something’s Happening!’ Pledges totaled $15,579 with some great nights and some quiet nights. We will be looking at the various nights to see what changes the audience wants in the programming. The Sunday Alan Watts pledges were spectacular seeing that we were cut back to 1/2 hour for pitch and play and ‘play’ was nearly 1/2 hour in itself. But with 3-4 minute fundraising times the show received over $3000 in pledges. The programs may be old but the Sunday AM audience is raring to go!

Ray McGovern is a long-time Russian specialist. After serving as an Army combat intelligence officer in the early 60s, Ray joined the CIA’s analyst ranks. His first portfolio focused on the Sino-Soviet conflict, which was deftly exploited by Nixon/Kissinger (with more than just interpreter assistance from our own Chas Freeman). As chief of the Soviet Foreign Policy Branch, Ray’s analytical team supported the SALT negotiations and he was in Moscow for the signing of the ABM Treaty, cornerstone of strategic stability for the next three decades. Ray correctly predicted Brezhnev’s invasion of Czechoslovakia but incorrectly predicted Putin would not invade Ukraine. Ray thinks the new Russia-China entente helps explain Putin’s gamble. For a relatively small country the nuclear statistics are impressive: Ukraine operates 15 reactors, ranking 7th in the world in 2020. The single largest nuclear power plant in Europe is in Ukraine. Ukraine’s power sector is the twelfth-largest in the world in terms of installed capacity. 54 gigawatts are providing over 50% of Ukraine’s electricity.
Linda Pentz Gunter presents a list of 6 catastrophes that can befall a nuclear power plant – from taking a direct intentional or accidental missile strike to the collapse of the grid to operating personnel being unable or unwilling to come to work.
Dr. Ira Helfand is part of the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapon (ICAN). Helfand also is a co-Founder and past President of Physicians for Social Responsibility.He describes the consequences of nuclear strikes on major cities.

In December of 2021, the U.N. voted 130–2 on a motion to condemn celebrations of Nazism. Only the U.S. and Ukraine voted against it. The EU and UK abstained.
” . . . . ‘By its terms, the Assembly expressed deep concern about the glorification of the Nazi movement, neo-Nazism and former members of the Waffen SS organization, including by erecting monuments and memorials, holding public demonstrations in the name of the glorification of the Nazi past, the Nazi movement and neo-Nazism, and declaring or attempting to declare such members and those who fought against the anti-Hitler coalition, collaborated with the Nazi movement and committed war crimes and crimes against humanity ‘participants in national liberation movements’. . . .”
That embodies the political dynamic underlying the outbreak of war in Ukraine.
The first two of a number of programs that will deal with the outbreak of war in Ukraine, these programs begin the detailed documentation of the ascent of the OUN/B successor groups to positions of power in the national security, police, educational and political establishments in Ukraine.

Note that Putin’s stated war aim: “De-Nazification” is not only substantively relevant, but just.
Mr. Emory doubts that the war will go well. The fighting may well have been sparked by a looming attempt by the Ukrainian government to seize the breakaway provinces by force, supported by U.S. and other Western military supply and clandestine special operations troops–the only circumstance that Mr. Emory felt would precipitate Russian intervention.

As of Sunday morning we are at $196.705 with our goal of $200,000. (you can still pledge at kpfk.org to help fill in the empty space). ‘Something’s Happening!’ Pledges totaled $15,579 with some great nights and some quiet nights. We will be looking at the various nights to see what changes the audience wants in the programming. The Sunday Alan Watts pledges were spectacular seeing that we were cut back to 1/2 hour for pitch and play and ‘play’ was nearly 1/2 hour in itself. But with 3-4 minute fundraising times the show received over $3000 in pledges. The programs may be old but the Sunday AM audience is raring to go!

Ray McGovern is a long-time Russian specialist. After serving as an Army combat intelligence officer in the early 60s, Ray joined the CIA’s analyst ranks. His first portfolio focused on the Sino-Soviet conflict, which was deftly exploited by Nixon/Kissinger (with more than just interpreter assistance from our own Chas Freeman). As chief of the Soviet Foreign Policy Branch, Ray’s analytical team supported the SALT negotiations and he was in Moscow for the signing of the ABM Treaty, cornerstone of strategic stability for the next three decades. Ray correctly predicted Brezhnev’s invasion of Czechoslovakia but incorrectly predicted Putin would not invade Ukraine. Ray thinks the new Russia-China entente helps explain Putin’s gamble. For a relatively small country the nuclear statistics are impressive: Ukraine operates 15 reactors, ranking 7th in the world in 2020. The single largest nuclear power plant in Europe is in Ukraine. Ukraine’s power sector is the twelfth-largest in the world in terms of installed capacity. 54 gigawatts are providing over 50% of Ukraine’s electricity.
Linda Pentz Gunter presents a list of 6 catastrophes that can befall a nuclear power plant – from taking a direct intentional or accidental missile strike to the collapse of the grid to operating personnel being unable or unwilling to come to work.
Dr. Ira Helfand is part of the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapon (ICAN). Helfand also is a co-Founder and past President of Physicians for Social Responsibility.He describes the consequences of nuclear strikes on major cities.

In December of 2021, the U.N. voted 130–2 on a motion to condemn celebrations of Nazism. Only the U.S. and Ukraine voted against it. The EU and UK abstained.
” . . . . ‘By its terms, the Assembly expressed deep concern about the glorification of the Nazi movement, neo-Nazism and former members of the Waffen SS organization, including by erecting monuments and memorials, holding public demonstrations in the name of the glorification of the Nazi past, the Nazi movement and neo-Nazism, and declaring or attempting to declare such members and those who fought against the anti-Hitler coalition, collaborated with the Nazi movement and committed war crimes and crimes against humanity ‘participants in national liberation movements’. . . .”
That embodies the political dynamic underlying the outbreak of war in Ukraine.
The first two of a number of programs that will deal with the outbreak of war in Ukraine, these programs begin the detailed documentation of the ascent of the OUN/B successor groups to positions of power in the national security, police, educational and political establishments in Ukraine.
These program will highlight and recap the exhaustive documentation presented over the roughly eight-year period since the Maidan coup, documenting the OUN/B Nazi dominance in Ukraine.
Note that Putin’s stated war aim: “De-Nazification” is not only substantively relevant, but just.
Mr. Emory doubts that the war will go well. The fighting may well have been sparked by a looming attempt by the Ukrainian government to seize the breakaway provinces by force, supported by U.S. and other Western military supply and clandestine special operations troops–the only circumstance that Mr. Emory felt would precipitate Russian intervention.

Fabrice Lehoucq is Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of North Carolina, Greensboro. ‘’As the Ukrainian army squares off against ultra-right and neo-Nazi militias in the west and violence against ethnic Russians continues in the east, the obvious folly of the Obama administration’s Ukraine policy has come into focus even for many who tried to ignore the facts, or what you might call “the mess that Victoria Nuland made.” Assistant Secretary of State for European Affairs “Toria” Nuland was the “mastermind” behind the Feb. 22, 2014 “regime change” in Ukraine, plotting the overthrow of the democratically elected government of President Viktor Yanukovych while convincing the ever-gullible U.S. mainstream media that the coup wasn’t really a coup but a victory for “democracy.” To sell this latest neocon-driven “regime change” to the American people, the ugliness of the coup-makers had to be systematically airbrushed, particularly the key role of neo-Nazis and other ultra-nationalists from the Right Sektor.
For the U.S.-organized propaganda campaign to work, the coup-makers had to wear white hats, not brown shirts. So, for nearly a year and a half, the West’s mainstream media, especially The New York Times and The Washington Post, twisted their reporting into all kinds of contortions to avoid telling their readers that the new regime in Kiev was permeated by and dependent on neo-Nazi fighters and Ukrainian ultra-nationalists who wanted a pure-blood Ukraine, without ethnic Russians. Any mention of that sordid reality was deemed “Russian propaganda” and anyone who spoke this inconvenient truth was a “stooge of Moscow.” It wasn’t until July 7 that the Times admitted the importance of the neo-Nazis and other ultra-nationalists in waging war against ethnic Russian rebels in the east….’’

The international environmental group Greenpeace warned Wednesday that Russia's intensifying assault is placing Ukraine's nuclear power facilities under serious threat, risking devastation "far worse even than the Fukushima Daiichi catastrophe of 2011." In a 12-page analysis, Greenpeace details the unique hazards posed by Russia's war on Ukraine, which maintains 15 nuclear power reactors and is home to the largest nuclear energy complex in Europe. That facility, known as the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, is currently surrounded by Russian troops looking to force their way through a makeshift blockade erected Wednesday by ordinary Ukrainians. Greenpeace's new brief argues that the Zaporizhzhia plant is especially vulnerable to an accident or attack stemming from Russia's invasion,. Greenpeace raises particular concern over the complex's susceptibility to electrical power outages, its storage of spent nuclear fuel, and risks posed by flooding given the facility's close proximity to the massive Dnipro river system. Severe damage to the plant, the group warns, could "render vast areas of the European continent, including Russia, uninhabitable for decades." "For the first time in history, a major war is being waged in a country with multiple nuclear reactors and thousands of tons of highly radioactive spent fuel," he continued. "The war in southern Ukraine around Zaporizhzhia puts them all at heightened risk of a severe accident."
