"FUND DRIVE SCHEDULE"
This quaint custom refers to the indefiniteness of the program times and maybe program presentations depending on the need to go where the pledge calls are. A regular change is that Thom Hartmann is usually scheduled
to start a bit earlier so we can appeal to our largest audience without cutting much (if any) of his show.

2-3 Gary Null, Progressive Commentary Hour – The new Kashmir Crisis and growing tensions between India and Pakistan
Farooq Kathwari [Far-ook Kah-t-waree] is an international respected Kashmiri-American business man who has been the Chairman, President and CEO of furniture chain store Ethan Allen Interiors Inc, now with outlets
across America, Canada, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. In 1985, at the age of 41, Far-ook was selected as company and continues to hold this position and took the firm public in 1993. Aside from his business acumen and reputation for making Ethan Allen
one of the most employee-friendly corporations in America, Mr. Kat-waree has also been a leading thought-leader in international attempts to simmer India-Pakistan tensions over Kashmir and to restore the original international policies that provided Kashmiris
a degree of autonomy. Recently, Kashmir has again reached global headlines after India’s Hindu-Nationalist Prime Minister Narendra Modi placed the India-controlled region into a military lockdown and rounding up 400 of Kashmir’s democratically elected politicians,
aides, officials and separatist intellectuals who continue to sit in Kashmir’s overflowing prisons. Besides his diplomatic efforts, Far-ook is also a founder of the Kashmir Study Group that created the Livingston Proposal as a peaceful initiative to bring
stability to Kashmir’s divisions. He is the chair of Refugees International and the co-Chair of the Muslim-Jewish Advisory Council, started during the election of Trump to fight against hate speech and crimes targeting Jews and Muslims. Last week Far-ook’s
personal autobiography, “Trailblazer: From the Mountains of Kashmir to the Summit of Global Business and Beyond,” was published which includes the history and political background of the Kashmir crisis and this intermediary activities to bring sanity between
India’s and Pakistan’s government.FREE DOWNLOAD: http://prn.fm/progressive-commentary-hour-new-kashmir-crisis-growing-tensions-india-pakistan/

WEDNESDAY NIGHT, OCTOBER 9
12-1 Dave Emory, "For the Record #1085 - Interview with Tom O’Neill about 'Chaos: Charles Manson, the CIA, and the Secret History of the Sixties'"
Tom O’Neill has written a book documenting the involvement of elements of the intelligence community with the operations and milieu of the Manson Family.
Those intelligence connections appear to have led to fundamental distortions in the behavior of the courts, law enforcement and correctional system with regard to the operations of the Manson Family.

“This odd word, translating the Sandkrit ‘tathata’ is used in Mahayana Buddhism
to suggest how things look to a Buddha, to one who has experienced
Enlightenment or liberation and is, therefore, called a Tathagata – one who comes
(or goes) thus, just like that! The sense of this nonsense in Buddhist philosophy
and its practical demonstration in Zen.” (AW)
