KPFK isn't only a valuable source of alternative music, culture and information, it is a democratically run grassroots media outlet. We turn to you to select our local board from the members of our community. Ballots will arrive in your e-mail box (if we have your email address) on Thursday August 15th and have to be returned by October 15th. If we couldn't find your email address, you will get a postcard in the mail with your voting information.
If you don't receive your ballot or want to request a different kind of ballot, please let us know by filling out a ballot request form. Click on the link and give us your information .

12-3:30 Danny Sheehan, "The JFK Assassination"
Beginning an 18 class course given at the University of California, Santa Cruz, in 2013.
In the fall 2013 quarter at the University of California, Santa Cruz, Daniel Sheehan taught a class on the theories of the JFK assassination, one of the first courses of its kind ever taught. Starting with the Warren commission report and the official government position, Sheehan outlines in extensive detail the nine major theories as to who was really behind the assassination.
Online reference and syllabus materials can be found with the videos. www.danielpsheehan.com and click on 'classes.' Depending on how motivated you are, there are downloads at the end of the class list for 3 syllabuses: 5 page, 19 page, and a 46 page, plus other materials.
NOTE: Unfortunately, the course was not professionally recorded. It was meant just for class members, not a radio audience. Buzz is working on the audio to clarify the sound quality as much as possible.

12-1 Gary Null, Progressive Commentary Hour - Dr. Alvin Moss & Kevin Barry
Dr. Alvin Moss ("Woody") is a professor of medicine and physician-scientist at a major university school of medicine and is the founding director of the university's Center for Health Ethics and Law. He has published over 150 scientific articles in the peer-reviewed medical literature, and serves on the editorial boards of the Clinical Journal of the American Society of Nephrology and the Journal of Pain and Symptom Management. He is also a reviewer for the New England Journal of Medicine, JAMA, the Annals of Internal Medicine, and multiple other medical journals. He has directed and taught the required course in medical ethics to medical students at my university for 25 years has chaired the statewide network of health ethics committees for 30 years. Dr. Moss' interest in vaccine safety and vaccine injury was first prompted by ethical concerns of conflicts of interest in vaccine research and public policy. As a practicing physician he prescribes vaccines to patients who choose to receive them after an informed consent discussion. Therefore, he is not ideologically pro-vaccine or anti-vaccine, but rather pro-health, pro-ethics, and pro-informed consent in vaccination. He has testified multiple times before legislative committees as an expert on vaccines. And finally Dr Moss is a graduate of Harvard University and the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine.
Kevin Barry is a former federal attorney in civil law at the US Attorney's Southern District of NY office and currently the president of First Freedoms Inc, a non profit organization dedicated to advancing the freedoms guaranteed by the Constitution's First Amendment. He is also a representative of an NGO advancing global health and environmental literacy to the United Nation. Earlier Kevin was the president of Jenny McCarthy's organization Generation Rescue. He has three sons, one with autism. Kevin is the author of "Vaccine Whistleblower: Exposing Autism Research Fraud at the CDC" with a preface by Boyd Haley and forward by Bobby Kennedy Jr. The book provides the original transcripts of conversations between the CDC scientist and whistleblower William Thompson and Prof. Brian Hooker about CDC corruption and cover-ups over vaccine safety. September 20th may be recognized as a day when the 16 year old Swedish activist Greta Thunberg led the world's youth to protest en masse against the failures of our governments to tackle the existential threats from climate change. Now tens of millions of youth globally are not only speaking out against those in power but also challenging them. A few days earlier, Greta confronted and provoked the US Congress to listen to the climate scientists. On the 23rd, addressing the United Nations she released her outrage towards the world's leaders and adults who have been complicit in robbing the younger generations of their innocence and future. Aside from its frequent hubris, platitudes and indifference towards meaningful climate policies, for its part the New York Times provided in depth coverage and analysis of Greta's American visit. However, shame on the Times for recently ignoring completely the medical science that confirms vaccines are likewise robbing many of our youth's future. Over the years, on too many topics to list, the Times has become a new media face for 21st century fascism. It has increasingly become a soulless, ideologically driven mouthpiece for the corporate elite, notably the pharmaceutical industry. On the one hand the newspaper celebrates the marching of youth against global warming; with the other hand it mocks and disparages the hundreds of thousands of parents with children injured or killed by vaccines. And yet all of these parents were once willing supplicants and true believers in vaccines' benefits. The fact they submitted their infants and toddlers to the care of their pediatricians is enough evidence to state these parents were all pro-vaccination advocates. By doing so, they innocently and likely unintentionally turned their trust over to the CDC and private vaccine makers with a false belief that these biologically active drugs were effective and safe. Only afterwards, with neurologically and permanently damaged children or an unexpected funeral bill, did they regret their faith in a system that values profit higher than health. Over the years, we have gotten to know many of these parents. Resuming analysis from our last program, we begin by reviewing and supplementing discussion about the continuity of Nazism and fascism around the political and historical milieu of Subhas Chandra Bose.
Surya Kumar Bose is president of the Indo-German association. (S.K. Bose is the grandnephew and acolyte of Subhas Chandra Bose.) " . . . . Surya, who has a software consultancy business in Hamburg and is president of the Indo-German Association . . . ."
We note the genesis of the Indo-German association in Germany during World War II: " . . . . 'The DIG was set up on September 11, 1942, by Subhash Chandra Bose at Hotel Atlanta in Hamburg.' . . . . Bose recounts, adding that the DIG today is the largest bilateral organisation in Germany, with 27 branches. As a consultant he often guides Germans keen on working in the booming Indian IT sector. He is also a founder-member of the German-Indian Round Table, an informal gathering that seeks to further mutual business interests. . . ."
Note, also, Surya Kuma Bose's networking with Alexander Werth, the German translator for Subhas Chandra Bose's German forces, which were folded into the Waffen SS at the end of World War II. " . . . . Back in the day, Netaji's stay in Germany had proved instrumental in shaping his struggle. Decades later, that legacy would play a pivotal role in shaping his grandnephew's career. Bose came to Germany on the advice of Alexander Werth, Netaji's German interpreter in the Indian Legion. . . ."
In an audio segment from 1985 (contained in FTR #1068), we accessed information from Spies and Traitors of World War II by Kurt Singer. That volume, written just after World War II, notes the participation in the German-Indian Society of German intelligence chief Admiral Wilhelm Canaris (head of the Abwehr.) This makes the DIG an element of political, economic, military and intelligence continuity from the World War II period to the present. ...
Next we review Glenn Greenwald's pivotal role in running legal interference for the leaderless resistance strategy, the literature published by the National Alliance, in particular.
We conclude with review of Tarrant's stay in Ukraine, and possible networking with the Azov Battalion.

On June 6, 2019 Joanna Macy, the environmental activist, author, scholar of Buddhism and Deep Ecology was one of two keynote speakers at The New School at Commonweal's Resilience Project in Bolinas, California. A longtime San Francisco/Bay Area resident - she had just celebrated her 90th birthday.
The question, that the participants at the Commonweal event had come to explore, was: Is resilience a possible response in the face of climate change and civilizational collapse. And what might resilience look like.
Joanna Macy gave a personal and movingly psychological/philosophical talk, led a brief exercise in Open Questioning and closed with generous credits to writers and their ideas that are helpful in navigating and intervening in the collapsing civilization around us. From TUC Radio: www.tucradio.org

It was with great joy that I discovered that Joanna Macy, teacher and writer on environmental justice, Deep Ecology, and Buddhist practice is admired by XR and is engaging with them in dialog. Here is an interview of Joanna Macy by XR podcast presenter Jessica Townsend from August 27, 2019. This program also includes a reading of the iconic story of the Shambala Warrior - one of the most moving metaphors for our time.
XR refers to a book by and about Joanna Macy that will be released in April 2020. The title is "A Wild Love for the World: Joanna Macy and the Work of our Time". The editors of this book give a beautiful summary of Macy's legacy: "Joanna Macy's innovative efforts at the intersection of systems theory, Buddhist practice, and social and environmental justice have produced important developments in areas ranging from anti-nuclear activism and climate change to grief work and indigenous rights."
