12-1 Dave Emory, "For the Record #1095, The Destabilization of China, Part 6: Asian Deep Politics"
In this program we present some of the deep political Asian history that bears on Chinese history and politics. In particular, the harm done to China by Generalissimo Chiang Kai-shek’s drug-dealing Kuomintang government, its collaboration with the brutal Japanese occupiers of Manchuria, as well as the United States is important in understanding the Chinese political and historical outlook.
In turn, the deep economic, political and military relationship between the Japanese fascists and the U.S. is to be factored in to any understanding of how the Chinese view this country and the West.
In that context, we do NOT think China’s present government will go down easily in the face of an obvious destabilization effort by the U.S. and the West.
In addition to the European colonization of China and Britain’s violent imposition of the opium drug trade through the Opium Wars, China’s political and historical memory is vividly animated by the drug-financed fascist dictatorship of Nationalist Chinese Generalissimo Chiang Kai-shek. Dubbed “the Peanut” by General Joseph Stilwell during World War II, Chiang was compared by Stilwell (the chief American military adviser and liaison to the Kuomintang forces during World War II) to Mussolini.
Chiang’s entire government and brutal national security apparatus rested on the foundation of the narcotics traffic, as was well known by the US Commissioner Bureau of Narcotics, Harry Anslinger.
It is impossible to understand World War II and the global and economic political landscape that emerged from it without digesting the vitally important book 'Gold Warriors' by Sterling and Peggy Seagrave.
Covering the Japanese equivalent of the Bormann flight capital network, the volume is a heroic, masterful analysis and penetration of the Asian wing of the cartel system that spawned fascism, as well as the realities of the post-World War II economic landscape. (FTR #‘s 427, 428, 446, 451, 501, 509, 688, 689 deal with the subject of the Golden Lily program successfully implemented by the Japanese to loot Asia.)
An incisive, eloquent review and encapsulation of the book is provided by Doug Valentine, providing further insight into the political and historical memory of the Chinese government and resulting stance toward any pressure to be mounted against that nation by the U.S. and the West.
Of particular note is the detailed analysis of the Japanese development of occupied Manchuria as an epicenter of the opium traffic with which to enrich their operations and to help subjugate the Chinese. Chinese sensitivity to the Japanese, Kuomintang, American and British roles in using drugs to enslave the Chinese people is very much in the forefront of Japanese political consciousness.
” . . . . .They [the Japanese] build roads and create industries and, more importantly, they work with corrupt warlords and Chinese gangsters associated with Chiang Kai-shek’s Kuomintang Party to transform Manchuria into a vast poppy field. By 1937 the Japanese and their gangster and Kuomintang associates are responsible for 90% of the world’s illicit narcotics. They turn Manchu emperor Pu Yi into an addict, and open thousands of opium dens as a way of suppressing the Chinese. . . .”
Far from being a peripheral political and economic consideration; the Golden Lily plunder is fundamental to postwar Western reality.
We conclude by highlighting Fred J. Cook’s analytical account of the McCarthy period, 'The Nightmare Decade.' One of the focal points of Cook’s book is McCarthy’s theme that State Department [Communist] treachery had “lost” China to Mao and his forces.
Exploiting the meme that “pinko” State Department officials were responsible for Mao’s ascendance, McCarthy and his team successfully purged the State Department of officials whose outlook on Chiang Kai-shek was realistic.
The fate of John Service–described in the excerpt of 'The CIA as Organized Crime'–illustrates this kind of activity.
In FTR #s 932 and 933 (among other programs), we noted the pivotal influence of Joe McCarthy’s right-hand man Roy Cohn on the professional development of Donald Trump. We wonder what influence Cohn and the McCarthy legacy may have had on Trump’s policy toward China.
Aside from the airy presumption that China was “ours” to “lose,” McCarthy’s thesis ignored the effects of U.S. policy in that country before, during and after, World War II. (This transgression is, of course, supplemental to Tailgunner Joe’s fabrication of evidence against those he targeted.)
In addition to support for Chiang Kai-Shek, whom General Joseph Stilwell compared to Mussolini, U.S. policy of using scores of thousands of Japanese soldiers as anti-Communist combatants was loathsome to the Chinese population, who had felt the full measure of Japanese atrocity during years of warfare.
Leafing through 'Nightmare Decade' for the first time in years, we came across a passage read into the record in AFA #11.
More than 16 months after V‑J Day (the official conclusion of the hostilities of World War II in Asia) the U.S. was countenancing the use of 80,000 Japanese troops (roughly eight divisions) as anti-Communist combatants in eastern and northwestern Manchuria alone!
Having been raised on 'Victory at Sea' and similar fare, this passage is yet another reminder that–70 + years or so after V‑J Day–“we’re not in Kansas any more, Toto.”
In retrospect, we never were.

Having been born in 1949, I grew up with World War II as a critical element of my political, civic and cognitive upbringing. I vividly remember watching the documentary “Victory at Sea” on television as a child. As I have grown older, more knowledgeable and wiser, learning the truth about World War II has been very sad and painful. In FTR #1095, we noted the historical background to the ongoing conflict with China–the brutal Japanese onslaught and the collaboration of Chiang Kai-shek’s Kuomintang narco-dictatorship with Japan’s attack and occupation. As a boy, I was awed and moved by the heroism of American and Allied service personnel who braved the dangers of flying over the Hump to bring U.S. supplies to Chiang Kai-shek’s forces. Although officially allied with the U.S., Chiang Kai-shek’s forces were actually working “both sides of the street.” We have encountered nothing more grotesquely tragic and disillusioning than the awareness that American military supplies flown over the Hump and/or sent along the Burma Road found their way into the hands of the Japanese, courtesy of KMT general Ku Chu-tung and his organized crime brother. Collaborating with Kodama Yoshio, the Japanese crime boss and Admiral of the Imperial Japanese Navy, the brothers swapped U.S. lend lease supplies for drugs.

In 2002 Mr. Deslauriers became a full-time activist, coordinating nearly three hundred grassroots groups focused on government system change. Looks like the fund drive will extend through this Friday Dec. 20. The income thermometer at KPFK says we're at $139,050 as of early Saturday morning. That leaves $123,050 to our goal. The impeachment hearings affected our fundraising schedule - which is Trump's fault as he has so far failed to copy his teacher Nixon's response to the House impeachment hearings.

December 2015 was a pivotal month in many respects.
During the first week of December 2015, Donald Trump began to establish a substantial lead over his Republican primary opponents.
Vice President Joseph Biden traveled to Ukraine to announce, on December 7th, a $190 million program to “fight corruption in law enforcement and reform the justice sector,” but behind the scenes explicitly linked a $1 billion loan guarantee to the firing of Ukrainian prosecutor Viktor Shokin, who had been investigating the energy company Burisma, which employed Biden’s son Hunter.
On December 9, 2015, the reported whistleblower Eric Ciaramella held a meeting in Room 236 of the Eisenhower Executive Office Building with Daria Kaleniuk, executive director of the Ukrainian Anti-Corruption Action Center, which was 59%-funded by Barack Obama’s State Department and the International Renaissance Foundation, a George Soros organization.
Also attending that meeting was Catherine Newcombe, attorney in the Criminal Division, Office of Overseas Prosecutorial Development, with the U.S. Department of Justice, where, among other duties, she oversaw the Department's legal assistance programs to Ukraine.
By December 2015, Paul Manafort was undoubtedly considering approaching the Trump campaign to rejuvenate his U.S. political bona fides and mitigate the legal and financial difficulties he was experiencing at the time.
From the beginning of his association with the Trump campaign, Roger Stone, a long-time Manafort partner, made a strong case to Trump to bring in Manafort, who would officially connect to the campaign immediately after the February 1, 2016 Iowa caucuses.
Based on events occurring during the same period, were Obama Deep State operatives aware of Manafort’s intent and already intending to use his past questionable practices and links to Russia against Trump?
Such awareness of Manafort’s plans could have been obtained either through FBI surveillance, which began in 2014 and ended in early 2016, or through information provided by Manafort associates, for example, Ukrainian businessman Konstantin Kilimnik, who worked for Manafort and was a FBI and Department of State asset, not a Russian agent as later painted by the Mueller investigation.

Prof. Mark Skidmore is a professor of economics at Michigan State University’s department of Agriculture, Food and Resource Economics where he specializes in the economics of the public sector, intergovernmental fiscal relations and the economics of natural disasters. He also holds the Chair for State and Local Government Finance and Policy. In addition to his academic position, Prof Skidmore is the director of the North Central Regional Center for Rural Development that covers a dozen of the northern states and serves as a consultant on issues concerning economic development. Along with economist Catherine Austin Fitts, who has been on this program in the past, Mark are bringing public awareness to $21 Trillion missing dollars from the US government — which we will be exploring together. We begin with an excerpt of a New York Times article what epitomizes the propagandized and unintentionally ironic tone of our media with regard to China.
The article mocks the Chinese assertion that the U.S. is involved with unrest with Hong Kong, remarking that China ” . . . . has a long history of blaming ‘foreign forces’ for challenges it has faced internally. . . .” This comes from the publication that has unwaveringly flogged the “Russia-Gate” nonsense.
The article also pooh-poohs Chinese assertion that the National Endowment for Democracy was working with the CIA to sponsor unrest in Hong Kong.
In FTR #s 1091 and 1092, we noted the involvement of the National Endowment for Democracy with key players in the Hong Kong drama, as well as their networking with major U.S. politicians, including Mike Pence and Mike Pompeo.
In past programs, we have discussed the National Endowment For Democracy, a “kinder, gentler” U.S. intelligence manifestation.
NED has supplemented the decades-old tradition of CIA destabilization and overthrow of governments that the U.S. views with a jaundiced eye.
The Chinese analysis of the role of the NED is accurate. “. . . . One of the NED co-founders, Allen Weinstein, explained its purpose to the Washington Post: ‘A lot of what we do today was done covertly 25 years ago by the CIA.’ . . . . ”
Next, we examine an informative post from German Foreign Policy, which notes that pending legislation in the U.S. Congress would economically damage U.S. and German commercial interests, as well as hurting Hong Kong’s economy.
We conclude with a topic we have covered before and will explore at greater length in our next broadcast. We begin an analysis of the use of the Turkophone, Muslim Uighurs as a destabilizing element in China’s mineral and petroleum-rich Xinjiang semiautonomous region.

If you read only one book this year, it should be Roger Hallam’s “Common Sense for the 21st Century: Only Nonviolent Rebellion Can Now Stop Climate Breakdown and Social Collapse.” Hallam’s lucid and concise book, which echoes Thomas Paine’s “Common Sense,”
says what many of us now know to be true but do not say: If we do not replace the ruling elites soon we are finished as a species. It is a cogent, well-argued case for global rebellion—the only form of resistance that can save us from ecosystem collapse and
human-induced genocide. It correctly analyzes the failure of environmentalist activists in groups such as 350.org to understand and confront global corporate power and thus make a meaningful impact as we barrel toward ecocide. “Common Sense for the 21st Century”
is a survival manual for the human species. “The corrupt system is going to kill us all unless we rise up,” Hallam, a co-founder of Extinction Rebellion, bluntly warns. The activism, protests, lobbying, petitions, appeals to the United Nations and misguided
trust in “liberal” politicians such as Barack Obama and Al Gore, along with the work of countless NGOs, have been accompanied by a 60% rise in global carbon dioxide emissions since 1990. The United Nations estimates this will be augmented by a 40% rise in

We begin with review of an article that was prominently featured in our last program.
In this article we note: the involvement of the NED with the leading individuals and institutions involved with the turmoil in Hong Kong; the networking between other U.S. “soft-power” intelligence fronts with the Hong Kong activists; the networking between
top Trump administration officials and the Hong Kong activists; the use of anti-Chinese slurs dating to the fighting between Japan and China prior to, and during, World War II; U.S. “Alt-right” involvement with the Hong Kong unrest; the meeting of a U.S. diplomat
with Hong Kong activists; the use of what–if it were used by people acting in the U.S.–rioting and terrorism by the crowds in Hong Kong; the violence used in Hong Kong includes throwing gasoline bombs at the police, setting fire to subway stations, attacking
passers-by and assaulting counter-protesters.
Underlying the turmoil in Hong Kong, the program sets forth the conflict between the financialized, laissez-faire economy of Hong Kong with the “state capitalist” system of China.
The former has led to an rent increase of roughly 300% over the last ten years, while wages stagnated. This has made Hong Kong the most expensive city in the world and led to a poverty rate of 20% of the island’s roughly 7 million citizens.
For all of its shortcomings, the “state capitalist” system of China has led to a decrease in the poverty rate from 88% in 1981 to 0.7% in 2015. (The figure comes from the World Bank, hardly a bastion of international Communist ideology.)
In that same context, the percentage of Chinese in the middle class has gone from 4% in 2002 to 31% today. (Again, the figures come from the World Bank, as well as the IMF and that well-known bastion of Marxist ideology and promulgation–the CIA’s analysis division.)
The economic plight of many in Hong Kong–the young in particular–has made them easy targets for regime-change tactics.
Of paramount significance in understanding the unrest in Hong Kong is the island’s role as an epicenter of economic crime. The extradition law which was the initial focus of the unrest would have enabled the extradition of malefactors for economic criminal
activity. For that reason, it was vigorously opposed by the Hong Kong business community and its U.S. allies.

Current efforts by the industry to roll out 5G cellular networks across the US heightened the interest in TUC radio programs. Especially what medical Doctor Devra Davis reported regarding tests commissioned by the Chicago Tribune in August 2019. Results showed that radio-frequency radiation exposure from the most popular smartphones measured higher than the legal safety limit. The way most users carry smartphones on their bodies and hold them close to their skull when they talk sends more radio-frequency radiation into their bodies than they know. What this may mean for our children is addressed by Katie Singer at the beginning of this talk. She also lists the most energy demanding parts of the internet and how much embodied energy exists in all aspects of production and distribution.
Katie Singer is the author of ‘An Electronic Silent Spring, Facing the Dangers and Creating Safe Limits;’ and the forthcoming ‘Our Web of Inconvenient Truths: The Internet, Energy Use, Toxic Waste and Climate Change – How on Earth Do We Shrink the Internet’s Footprint?’
She was interviewed at the Jan 25 to Feb. 3, 2019, conference of the the HIPPOCRATES HEALTH INSTITUTE by Ben Zeitlin.
In 2015 Katie Singer gave a talk at the Colorado Chautauqua in Boulder. She opened with a memorable account on how human beings, like all living beings including plants function by electro chemical signals. Even at rest all cells have measurable voltage. Ever since the beginning of the electric power grid about 140 years ago, we have nearly saturated our environment with electrical and magnetic frequency fields and amplitudes that do not exist in nature. With 5G the industry is planning to exponentially increase the exposure. Are we overpowering our innate life giving electro chemical signals that keep our heart pumping and our brains functioning with these new frequency fields? Prof William Robinson is Professor of Sociology and Latin American Studies at the University of California at Santa Barbara. He is also on the university’s faculty in its Global and International Studies Program. William is a scholar activist, deeply involved in Third World struggles for social justice, the Latin American left, popular empowerment of populations and participatory democracy and government. His areas of focus include globalization, transnationalism, political economics, immigration and a variety of sociological issues. William received his graduate degrees from the University of New Mexico. In the 1980s he worked as a journalist and activist during the revolution in Nicaragua. He has published nine books, his latest being “Into the Tempest: Essays on the New Global Capitalism,” which investigates how global capitalism is now controlled by a multinational capitalist class and is contributing to draconian policies in the US and other developed nations giving rise to nationalist police states. The program begins with an excerpt of AFA #37 (from the fall of 1992), dealing with the destabilization of the U.S.S.R. Relying on articles from Covert Action Information Bulletin #35, by Doug Henwood and Sean Gervasi, the program reviews both NSC 68 and what Gervasi terms “the full court press” strategy that was its ultimate fulfillment.
Using political action focused on promoting fractious nationalism among targeted ethnicities within the targeted nation and economic and diplomatic pressure to weaken that country, the strategy worked very well with the Soviet Union.
It is Mr. Emory’s considered opinion that the same strategy is being applied to China. Whether that strategy will be successful remains to be seen.
Next, we note the role of the National Endowment for Democracy (an example of Orwellian Newspeak if ever there was one) in continuing our examination of the turmoil in Hong Kong. NED was deeply involved in the destabilization of the U.S.S.R. We examined NED’s role in projecting Nazi and fascist elements back into Lithuania in AFA #37, as well as FTR #858.

Noam Chomsky, by any measure, has led a most extraordinary life. In one index he is ranked as the eighth most cited person in history, right up there with Aristotle, Shakespeare, Marx, Plato and Freud. The legendary MIT professor is a major contributor to 21st century linguistics. In addition to his pioneering work in that field he has been a leading voice for peace and social justice for many decades. Chris Hedges says he is “America’s greatest intellectual” who “makes the powerful, as well as their liberal apologists, deeply uncomfortable.” He is Institute Professor (emeritus) in the Department of Linguistics and Philosophy at MIT and Laureate Professor of Linguistics and Haury Chair in the Program in Environment and Social Justice at the University of Arizona. Recorded in Detroit, MI on April 12, 1964.
Malcolm X is a singular figure in African-American history. He led an extraordinary life. He was born in an impoverished family in Omaha, NE on May 19, 1925. He recalled being “dizzy” with hunger. He said, “My whole life has been a chronology of changes.” Indeed it was. He went through a remarkable series of transformations from being a street hustler known as Detroit Red to going to jail, to converting to Islam then breaking with Nation of Islam leader Elijah Muhammad and becoming an independent voice for black dignity, self-reliance, and economic independence. Malcolm challenged the racist white power structure and the blacks who went along with it. He was only 39 years old when he was assassinated on February 21, 1965 in New York. Maya Angelou said of him, “His aura was too bright.” He had a charismatic presence and a radiant smile. And he was an electrifying orator. At his funeral, Ossie Davis eulogized him as our “prince. Our own black shining prince.” Today, Malcolm’s autobiography continues to be read and his words continue to inspire.
Malcolm X, born Malcolm Little, also known as El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz, was a prominent human rights activist. To his admirers he was a courageous advocate for the rights of blacks, a man who indicted white America in the harshest terms for its crimes against black Americans; detractors accused him of preaching racism and violence. He has been called one of the greatest and most influential African Americans in history. Katie Singer is the author of “An Electronic Silent Spring, Facing the Dangers and Creating Safe Limits”; and the forthcoming “Our Web of Inconvenient Truths: The Internet, Energy Use, Toxic Waste and Climate Change – How on Earth Do We Shrink the Internet’s Footprint?”
She is a consultant with the EMR Policy Institute, and presented her concerns about the Internet’s footprint at the 2018 UN Forum on Science, Technology & Innovation and on a January, 2019, panel with climatologist Dr. Jim Hansen. She was interviewed at the Jan 25 to Feb. 3, 2019, conference of the the Hippocrates Health Institute by Ben Zeitlin. In her first book, The Electronic Silent Spring, Katie Singer wrote on EMR’s health effects. She told me that now her focus is on the Internet’s energy use, greenhouse gas emissions, toxic waste and worker hazards and surveillance.
Across the United States, telecom providers have begun mapping their plans to deploy 5G microwave-emitting cellular sites throughout neighborhoods. Katie Singer says that: “Every person deserves to be informed about what’s happening and what’s within every household’s ability to control. How did we get to 5G? Why do we need it? Dr. Rupert Sheldrake is a British biochemist and plant physiologist who has experimented with innovative field theories in plants and animals, including humans, to account for the causative formation of the deeper structures of biological development and collective consciousness. Dr. Sheldrake has been a fellow at Cambridge University, a Frank Knox Fellow at Harvard and a Research Fellow of he British Royal Society. His research has included efforts to reach a greater understanding of memory, perception, cognition and the debate over consciousness. For two years he lived in a Benedictine Christian ashram in South India under the guidance of the late sage Father Bede Griffiths. Over the past several decades Rupert developed his theory of morphic resonance and morphogenic fields. He has written extensively on morphogenic theory since the publication “A New Science in Life “in 1981. His most recent book is “Ways to Go Beyond and Why They Work,” which presents various spiritual practices and ways that for everyday activities to have spiritual meaning for the scientific age we have now entered. Whistleblowers being brought forth by the democrats in the Trump impeachment case
John Kiriakou (Keer-ee-a-ko) is a former CIA analyst, counter-terrorism operations officer, case office and was a senior investigator for the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. He was later John Kerry’s intelligence adviser. After 911, John was chief of counter-terrorist operations in Pakistan, later becoming the Executive Assistant to the CIA’s Deputy Director of Operations. John turned whistleblower over the CIA’s torture policy practiced against prisoners in custody, thus becoming the first government official to confirm the use of waterboarding on al-Qaeda inmates. He was tried for passing on classified information and served two years in a federal correctional facility. He was the sixth indicted whistleblower by Obama under the Espionage Act. Nevertheless, John had received 10 exceptional awards from the CIA and the State Department’s Meritorious Honor Award. He has also received the Joe Callaway Award for Civic Courage as a national security whistleblower, the 2013 Peacemaker of the Year Award from the Justice Center, in 2016 the Sam Adams Award. among others. He has written several books, including “The Reluctant Spy: My Secret Life in the CIA’s War on Terror,” and more recently “Doing Time Like a Spy: How the CIA Taught Me to Survive and Thrive in Prison.” John hosts the broadcast “Loud and Clear” which can be heard on the Progressive Radio Network every Wednesday at 7:00 Eastern time. We begin with brief review of the Falun Gong cult and its connections. Part of a constellation of organizations and individuals working with former Trump chief of staff Steve Bannon to neutralize China, Falun Gong has garnered the support of CIA derivative Broadcasting Board of Governors in the effort.
The Falun Gong teaches that: post menopausal women can regain menstruation, considered mandatory for spiritual evolution; gays are demonized; mixed race people are demonized; cult members are discouraged from seeking modern medical treatment; space aliens are inhabiting human bodies and are responsible for modern technology such as airplanes and computers; tiny beings are said to be invading human bodies and causing “bad karma;” master Li Hongzhi knows the secrets of the universe; master Li Hongzhi can levitate and walk through walls; master Li Hongzhi can install a physical “Falun”–swastika–in the abdomen of followers which revolves in various directions; Falun Gong teaching demonizes feminists and popular music; there will be a “Judgement Day” on which communists and others deemed unworthy by master Li Hongzhi will be neutralized.
Falun Gong–largely through its Epoch Times newspaper–has established a major social media presence and is a key ally of President Trump’s re-election effort: “. . . . In April, at the height of its ad spending, videos from the Epoch Media Group, which includes The Epoch Times and digital video outlet New Tang Dynasty, or NTD, combined for around 3 billion views on Facebook, YouTube and Twitter, ranking 11th among all video creators across platforms and outranking every other traditional news publisher, according to data from the social media analytics company Tubular.That engagement has made The Epoch Times a favorite of the Trump family and a key component of the president’s re-election campaign.
Program Highlights Include: The enormous amount of money under control of Falun Gong; similarities to the Unification Church; the anti-communist dogma of the cult (again, not unlike the Unification Church); the role of the internet and social media–Facebook, in particular–in the growth of Falun Gong’s operations; the spin put by NBC on Falun Gong’s beliefs.

Noam Chomsky, by any measure, has led a most extraordinary life. In one index he is ranked as the eighth most cited person in history, right up there with Aristotle, Shakespeare, Marx, Plato and Freud. The legendary MIT professor is a major contributor to 21st century linguistics. In addition to his pioneering work in that field he has been a leading voice for peace and social justice for many decades. Chris Hedges says he is “America’s greatest intellectual” who “makes the powerful, as well as their liberal apologists, deeply uncomfortable.” He is Institute Professor (emeritus) in the Department of Linguistics and Philosophy at MIT and Laureate Professor of Linguistics and Haury Chair in the Program in Environment and Social Justice at the University of Arizona. At 90, he still gives lectures all over the world. He is the author of scores of books, including 'Propaganda & the Public Mind,' 'How the World Works,' 'Power Systems and Global Discontents' with David Barsamian.
