1:30-3 China Galland, "The Power of the Dark Feminine" Part 2 (concluding)

'Discovering the Energy of Fierce Compassion'

A Spiritual Pilgrimage into the Rich, Fertile Soil of the Divine Feminine
'For centuries a hidden current has run through the world's wisdom traditions - a dark, positive feminine energy represented by such striking symbolic figures as the Tibetan Buddhist Tara, the Black Madonna of Catholicism, and the Hindu Kali. On 'The Power of the Dark Feminine,' award winning author and researcher China Galland escorts you on a spiritual pilgrimage in search of these inspiring mythic figures. From Indian to South America, to medieval Europe you will encounter the world's most powerful manifestations of 'fierce compassion,' the feminine force that emerges when we harness our anger and transform it into spiritual awareness - and learn ways to awaken this power within ourselves. Enriched with authentic meditations and many true stories of women who are changing the world today through compassionate action, 'The Power of the Dark Feminine' is a quest across the globe and into the rich, fertile soil of a lost spiritual tradition.'

China Galland is the award-winning author of 'The Bond Between Women,' 'Longing for Darkness,' 'Women of the Wilderness' and 'Love Cemetery.' She has worked as a wilderness guide and is a university lecturer and scholar of comparative religion. She is currently (1999) a research associate at the Graduate Theological Union's Center for Women and Religion in Berkeley and is the founder and director of the Images of Divinity Research Project.

China was given the Courage of Conscience Award from the Peace Abbey, in Sherborn, MA. and from the Chaplaincy Institute in Berkeley. She will become a part of an illustrious group which includes the Thirteen Indigenous Grandmothers, Mother Teresa, Maya Angelou, the Dalai Lama, Dr. Paul Farmer, Julia Butterfly Hill, and many others. China is receiving this award in recognition of her years of writing, leadership, and activism on behalf of justice, reconciliation, and peace. The award is being given to her at this time because of the Abbey's and the Institute's belief that her visionary work on truth and reconciliation has never been needed more than now.

3-3:30 Dr. John Campbell: ''Corona Virus – What we need to know now''
From Maria - March 10, 2020

Interview by Radio Ecoshock Host Alex Smith

In the first week of March 2020, as the world was trying to understand the new Corona Virus, this extraordinary conversation was posted in the weekly line-up of Radio Ecoshock.

My fellow broadcaster and friend Alex Smith reached Dr. John Campbell in Britain and asked him about the medical science and epidemiology of the Corona virus. Dr. Campbell is a retired Nurse Teacher and A and E nurse based in England. He also does some teaching in Asia and Africa. He publishes daily on Youtube under Campbellteaching. These videos help students learn the background to all forms of health care. He currently posts on the spread of the Corona virus. A film posted yesterday had 1/4 million views in 24 hours.

Alex Smith gave me permission to broadcast excerpts from this information packed one hour radio program from ecoshock. Smith is the founder and host of Radio Ecoshock, 14 years on the air. Syndicated to around 100 mostly public radio stations Radio Ecoshock has become a vital information link to the latest climate science.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT, MARCH 18

12-1 Dave Emory, "For The Record #1105 –Fascism, 2019 World Tour, Part 15: Lithium Coup in Bolivia, Part 2’’

These programs highlight features of an apparent coup d’etat in Bolivia, emphasizing the individuals and institutions figuring in the coup itself, as well as the underlying dynamic of the development of Bolivia’s enormous lithium reserves. Central to the discussion is the fact that lithium is essential for the development of electric car batteries and that technology is important to any successful “Greening” of the global economy.

Fascists from Latin America and Europe networked with transnational corporate elements and some U.S. intelligence cut-outs to oust Evo Morales and his government.

Although Morales had violated constitutional norms on term limits in order to extend his governance, his political agenda had greatly benefited Bolivia’s poor and its historically oppressed indigenous population, in particular. The country’s mineral wealth has been exploited by foreign companies and select members of the Bolivian elite to the detriment of much of the population. Even the conservative “Financial Times” has noted that Morales restructuring of the Bolivian economy–mineral extraction, in particular–has significantly improved the country’s economy and reduced poverty.

This element of discussion involves many subjects covered at length over the decades and featured in the archives:

1.–Material about Klaus Barbie and the European fascists in his “Fiances of Death” (or “Bridegrooms of Death”) mercenaries can be found in, among other programs, AFA #‘s 19 and 27.

2.–The Vatican’s relationship to fascism, including Opus Dei and the Ustachi in Croatia, is highlighted in, among other programs AFA #17.

3.–Information about the re-emergence of the Ustachi can be found in, among other programs, FTR #‘s 49, 154, 766, 901.

Key individual and institutional players in the development of, prelude to, and execution of the Bolivian coup: …

1-2 Jenny Brown “Women: Labor Pains”

Program #BROJ001. Recorded in Berkeley, CA on December 10, 2019.

In 2018, the birth rate in the United States reached its lowest level in decades. This alarmed the patriarchal class that wants to control women’s bodies. Reproductive rights and access to abortion are under sustained political attack. Roe v. Wade is under threat. What role does misogyny play in gender relations? Feminist activists assert that declining birth rates represent a work slowdown, or strike, in the face of the poor conditions for those who do the work of bearing and raising children and the accompanying financial stress. The U.S. economy relies on the unpaid labor of millions of often overworked and exhausted women. What happens when they organize and say, “No More”? Unpaid work, particularly bearing and rearing children must be paid for. Jenny Brown says, “When it comes to compensating for the labor of having kids, the U.S. is truly at the bottom.”

Jenny Brown is a National Women’s Liberation organizer and former editor of Labor Notes. She was a leader in the grassroots campaign to make morning-after pill contraception available over the counter and was a plaintiff in the winning lawsuit. She is the author of Without Apology: The Abortion Struggle Now and Birth Strike: The Hidden Fight over Women’s Work.
