VACATION'S END
I am back this week from my vacation - the first in several years. Great thanks is owed to Buzz for taking over the helm. It's a relief that I can take time off without the show disappearing albeit temporarily. It is not an easy job and also tends to destroy daytime activities. BTW The timing of my time off was only coincidental with the government shutdown.

MONDAY NIGHT, JANUARY 28

12:-1 Pema Chodron, "Noble Heart"
'A Self-Guided Retreat on Befriending Your Obstacles'

You can't get away from suffering. That's the good news, teaches Pema Chödrön. For at the core of your most painful experiences, perhaps more than anywhere else, you will find the seeds of your awakening.

On Noble Heart, this beloved American-born Buddhist nun shows you how vulnerability is your greatest spiritual resource on the path through life's difficulties. The noble heart, Ane Pema teaches, is one that sheds its armor, opening itself fearlessly to both heartache and delight. Using special meditations and traditional teachings, Pema Chödrön leads you, step-by-step, toward a full realization of your true strength, the strength that can come only through embracing the pain of your own experience.

Noble Heart was recorded as it happened, within the peaceful shrine room of Gampo Abbey, Ane Pema's home on the cliffs of Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia. Structured so that you can create your own retreat at home or at your meditation center, this complete curriculum brings you key teachings about how to recognize and cultivate the soft spot that is the gateway to your own noble heart.

Here is the promise of the Four Limitless Ones-maitri (loving-kindness), compassion, joy, and equanimity-and down-to-earth advice about how to draw strength from them every day, in any situation. Here, too, are the treasured teachings about the Six Paramitas: the Buddha's own map of the journey to enlightenment. Learn how to connect with your innately unlimited friendliness, and how it can grow big enough to contain the entire world.

With four complete meditations, unique heart teachings, and Ane Pema's trademark humor, Noble Heart invites you to discover for yourself the compassion and wisdom that have established her as a leading voice in American Buddhism. Includes more than nine hours of direct teachings from this revered acharya (master teacher).

Session 6 of 12: 'Unlimited Joy and Equanimity'
Going from limited to limitless. Working with strong emotions. Fundamental openness. "M&M." Basic goodness. Melting practice. Big sky mind. The eight worldly charms. More...

1-2:30 "Pema Chodron and Alice Walker 'In Conversation'"
(Last week's broadcast had technical problems)

How can human suffering become good medicine? Through tonglen: the ancient Tibetan meditation that transforms pain into compassion on the medium of your own breath.

'Pema Chödrön and Alice Walker in Conversation' reveals the revolutionary power of tonglen through a dialogue between two hearts and minds forged in very different cultures-and yet deeply joined in the simple practice of compassion.

Take a front-row seat as the Pulitzer Prize-winning author Alice Walker and American-born Buddhist nun Pema Chödrön reflect on anger, joy, fear, and the union of spirituality and social activism. Hear their personal experiences of the "giving and taking" meditation and how it has helped heal their lives. Let their combined wisdom illuminate the realm, available to us all, where the barriers between self and others dissolve.

Bhikshuni Pema Chodron is the first American-born woman to receive full ordination as a Tibetan Buddhist Nun. She is the director of Gampo Abbey in Nova Scotia, Canada and author of many best-sellers including 'The Wisdom of No Escape,' Start Where You Are,' and 'When Things Fall Apart.'

Alice Walker won the Pulitzer Prize and the American Book Award in 1983 for 'The Color Purple.' She is the author of numerous novels, short stories, essays, poems, and children's books. Ms. Walker served as executive producer of the independent film, 'Warrior Marks;' a documentary about female genital mutilation.

Introduction by James Meadows, a Buddhist Studies graduate student.

Recorded live at San Francisco's Palace of Fine Arts, Pema Chödrön and Alice Walker in Conversation comes with a seven-page booklet covering tonglen instructions and suggestions for further reading. Includes a lively Q&A session. (77)

2:30-3:30 Jack Kornfield, "The Jewel of Liberation" #2 of 8

For four decades, Buddhist meditation teacher Jack Kornfield has shared practical instructions for awakening the wise and compassionate heart in the midst of all we experience. The Jewel of Liberation presents 10 pinnacle dharma talks (teaching sessions) hand-selected by Jack from his personal collection to illuminate the pathways out of suffering and into the natural freedom that is both our shared birthright and our greatest gift to the world.

Reclaim the Seat of Dignity, Compassion, and Lovingkindness

Meditation is the practice of awakening itself; it is the fundamental tool the Buddha offered to quiet the mind and open the heart. We begin our retreat with an examination of the art of meditation and how it empowers us to see things clearly and be gracious with the flow of this ever-changing life.

The Jewel of Liberation continues with guidance in managing our troubles, the "weeds" that arise even as we cultivate the seeds of abiding happiness. Our retreat culminates with an inquiry into the "laws of life," the understandings we must have if we are to experience freedom independent of our circumstances.

The Possibility of Freedom Here and Now

"The sure heart's release is found nowhere else but in our own direct experience-for it is who and what we are," teaches Jack Kornfield. "The world so much needs people who are free in this way, unafraid to love every being." Here is his invitation for each of us to "be a lamp of freedom for yourself and for all."

Session 2 of 8: 'Take the One Seat'
The river of change. The firm ground of emptiness. The foundation of mindfulness. Quieting the mind. Courage and surrender. Guided practice: Resting in Awareness.

1-2 Dr. Samantha Brody, 'Overcoming Overwhelm'

(Scheduled in Guide last week but not played)

Dr. Samantha Brody is a licensed naturopathic physician, acupuncturist, and the founder of Evergreen Natural Health Center in Portland, Oregon. With Sounds True, she has published 'Overcoming Overwhelm: Dismantle Your Stress from the Inside Out.' In this episode of Insights at the Edge, Tami Simon speaks with Dr. Samantha about honoring intentions for the New Year rather than making easily broken "resolutions." They discuss how to approach overwhelm with greater equanimity by identifying your "true north"-those priorities and values that truly define how you want to live your life. Dr. Samantha considers what it means to make healthy, nourishing choices in alignment with your true north. Finally, Tami and Dr. Samantha talk about the revitalizing power of a good night's sleep and how to deal with the emotional overwhelm of a constantly changing world. (57 minutes)

Tami's Takeaway: As a naturopathic physician, Dr. Samantha Brody has worked with over 30,000 clients to help them "overcome overwhelm" and make lifestyle changes that support greater health and vitality. I pushed hard in this conversation to find out what Dr. Samantha feels is the chief characteristic of people who actually follow through on their intentions to live with greater health and balance (whether that involves a new diet, fitness plan, or some other approach to reducing stress). Her answer is my takeaway: The most important factor in overcoming overwhelm is a willingness to take 100 percent responsibility for our choices and the results that follow.

2-3:30 Damien Echols: "Building the Light Body"

Damien Echols was wrongfully convicted of murder in the infamous "West Memphis Three" case and spent more than 18 years on death row before his exoneration and release. Now he teaches Western ceremonial magick-the same practice he credits with saving his life in prison. With Sounds True, Damien has published the book 'High Magick' and a practice-oriented audio companion, 'A Course in High Magick.' In this episode of 'Insights at the Edge,' Tami Simon speaks with Damien about magick and how it is meant to "constantly ingest more of divinity." Damien describes two of the central practices of magick-the Middle Pillar and the Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram-and details why they are so foundational to the modality. Damien explains how he first discovered magick while in solitary confinement and details the concept of "will" in relationship to the Buddhist concept of dharma. Finally, Damien and Tami talk about what it means to manifest a "light body" and the overall goal of spiritual liberation through magick.

Tami's Takeaway: Damien Echols is a "current-bearer"-someone who is able to pass to others an experience of boundless light. When I met with Damien in November of 2018 at a launch event for his new book, High Magick, I could tell that something had recently happened to him that had dramatically increased the intensity of this current. In this conversation, he describes how the practices of magick, which he calls "a Western path of enlightenment," brought him to an experience of ego dissolution, which he describes as "experiencing myself as a small handful of sand that someone threw into a tornado." The takeaway: an invitation to let go of any feeling of separateness, enter the abyss, and discover the interconnected light that awaits us.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT, JANUARY 30

SPECIAL: We are taking a one week break from Dave Emory's manumental multi-part inter with Jim DiEugenio to look closely at some 'ignored' aspects of the current 'Russiagate' coverage by two multi-decade long experts in law, government, and 'security.'

12-12:30 Ray McGovern - "RussiaGate: The Absence of Evidence?" (ONE of TWO)

The material for this program literally landed on my doorstep with a personal challenge - would TUC radio and you who have listened over time be open to hearing arguments that there is no evidence that Russia interfered in the 2016 elections?
Given the speaker, former CIA analyst Ray McGovern, who I met and recorded before, beginning with the opposition to the war on Iraq; and given the expertise of the group of colleagues around him, the Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity, VIPS; and given that this group expressed their doubts about Russian interference already in December of 2016; and given that no major TV or print media have given them a voice - I picked up the challenge and am giving Ray McGovern and his colleagues this space and time and hope that you might find his arguments and evidence as intriguing as I did.
Ray McGovern served as a CIA analyst for 27 years, from the administration of John F. Kennedy to that of George H. W. Bush. His duties included chairing National Intelligence Estimates and preparing the President's Daily Brief to Ronald Reagan's security advisers from 1981 to 1985.
In January 2003, McGovern co-created Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity (VIPS) to expose how intelligence was being falsified to "justify" war on Iraq. VIPS remains active to this day.
McGovern was recorded on August 4, 2018 at the Common Good Cafe in Seattle, WA. Thanks to KODX-LP FM radio for the recording.

12:30-1 Ray McGovern - "RussiaGate: The Absence of Evidence?" (TWO of TWO)

Includes a clip from Noam Chomsky explaining his skepticism of the RussiaGate claims.

After retiring he became a trusted source of information on the falsified intelligence about weapons of mass destruction that was used to bring the US into the disastrous war on Iraq.
For over two years McGovern has focused on what came to be dubbed RussiaGate and in part ONE you heard about his assessment of Julian Assange, and the so-called hacking of e-mails of the DNC. He raised questions about the company CrowdStrike that ran the computers of the DNC and why the FBI never investigated the so-called hacks.
In this program McGovern presents arguments and evidence for law breaking of senior official in intelligence organizations, the FBI and the Obama era Department of Justice. McGovern states that instead of RussiaGate we ought to be talking about FBIGate.
Ray McGovern was recorded on August 4, 2018 at the Common Good Cafe in Seattle, WA. Thanks to Mike McCormick of KODX-LP FM radio for the recording.

2:30-3:30 Noam Chomsky, "There Are Plenty of Opportunities"
Recorded in Northfield, MN on May 04, 2018.

In the immortal words of Howard Beale, the TV anchor played by Peter Finch, in the classic film Network, "Things are bad, they're worse than bad. I'm as mad as hell and I'm not going to take this anymore. Things have got to change." If you are feeling that way you're not alone. In facing adversity some choose to do nothing and sit on their hands, others rise to the moment and resist. A long-time activist advises: "Get off of Facebook and into the faces of the powerful." Social media is good for getting people out to demonstrations but it is no substitute for solidarity and movement organizing. There are plenty of opportunities. Perhaps we can take inspiration from poor and tiny Armenia. It just toppled its corrupt government in a massive display of non-violent citizen power.

Noam Chomsky, by any measure, has led a most extraordinary life. In one index he is ranked as the eighth most cited person in history, right up there with Aristotle, Shakespeare, Marx, Plato and Freud. The legendary MIT professor practically invented modern linguistics. In addition to his pioneering work in that field he has been a leading voice for peace and social justice for many decades. Chris Hedges says he is "America's greatest intellectual" who "makes the powerful, as well as their liberal apologists, deeply uncomfortable." He is Institute Professor (emeritus) in the Department of Linguistics and Philosophy at MIT and Laureate Professor of Linguistics and Haury Chair in the Program in Environment and Social Justice at the University of Arizona. At 90, he still gives lectures all over the world. He is the author of scores of books, including 'Propaganda & the Public Mind,' 'How the World Works,' 'Power Systems and Global Discontents' with David Barsamian. He noted that patients who were integrating cancer therapies were doing far superior and had a better quality of life than patients who were under conventional cancer care alone.
Dr. Forsythe became interested in carrying out Clinical Out-come-based Survival Studies in order to validate the efficacy of Integrative Cancer Therapies. He has completed and continues his studies on Paw-Paw, Poly-MVA and nutrients. Dr. Forsythe is now using Genomic Testing followed by IPT in an out-come based investigation on all Stage IV adult cancer patients.
Dr. Forsythe will present his data on his Forsythe Immune Protocol (FIP) which contains a proprietary blend of vitamins, minerals, trace elements, and herbs. In 2010 Dr. Forsythe added Poly-MVA to his FIP proprietary mixture, to conduct a clinical out-come based investigation. The study as of this date September 2018, includes 1400 Stage IV adult cancer patients over an eight year period. The eight year results will be presented showing a 70% overall survivorship rate.
Dr. Forsythe has been highly regarded as one of the leading Medical Oncologist in the United States. He is internationally recognized for his cancer treatments and known for his courageous fight against the FDA to allow all physicians nationally to treat Adult Onset Human Growth Deficiency. 2:30-3:30 Dr. Samantha Brody, 'Overcoming Overwhelm'

WEDNESDAY NIGHT, JANUARY 23

12-1 Dave Emory "For the Record #1041 - Interview #10 With Jim DiEugenio About 'Destiny Betrayed' "

The tenth of a planned long series of interviews with Jim DiEugenio about his triumphal analysis of President Kennedy's assassination and New Orleans District Attorney Jim Garrison's heroic investigation of the killing.

In this broadcast, we delve into operational links between U.S. intelligence agent David Ferrie-the first target of Garrison's investigation-and Clay Shaw, who was tried by Garrison.

One of the operations in which Ferrie and Shaw participated was an effort to bolster Freeport Sulphur.

The program concludes with discussion of what a Garrison investigator called "The Bomb"-an apparent plan, with detailed schematics, to assassinate JFK. NB: Mr. Emory mistakenly links Clay Shaw to "The Bomb." Shaw was, according to credible testimony involved with Ferrie in another, probably connected, association to discuss killing Kennedy.

"The Bomb" will be analyzed at the beginning of our next interview.

1-2 Dave Emory, "For the Record #1042 - Interview #11 with Jim DiEugenio about 'Destiny Betrayed'"

This is the eleventh of a planned long series of interviews with Jim DiEugenio about his triumphal analysis of President Kennedy's assassination and New Orleans District Attorney Jim Garrison's heroic investigation of the killing.

In this broadcast, we explore the association of David Ferrie and Clay Shaw in the context of the planning of assassination plots against JFK, as well as Shaw's involvement with the intelligence community.

NB: In our previous interview, Mr. Emory mistakenly linked "The Bomb" to Clay Shaw and to a plot to assassinate JFK. Shaw was, according to credible testimony involved with Ferrie in another, probably connected, association to discuss killing Kennedy.

David Ferrie had a desk in the office of C. Wray Gill, a lawyer for Carlos Marcello. When another of Gill's clients-a woman named Clara Gay-was in the office, she witnessed another Ferrie assassination schematic on November 26, 1963:

After discussion of the Ferrie Dealey Plaza assassination schematic, the discussion turns to a conversation witnessed by Perry Russo, one of Garrison's most important witnesses.

Key aspects of Andrews' contact with Shaw/Bertrand:
At Shaw's trial, Judge Haggerty refused to admit Shaw's admitted alias as evidence.

The concluding portion of the broadcast deals with Clay Shaw's intelligence connections. One of the most important elements of Shaw's intelligence career was uncovered by researcher Peter Vea, whose disclosures were supplemented by some interesting commentary by Victor Marchetti.

1-2 Pema Chodron, "Noble Heart" Session 5 of 12
'A Self-Guided Retreat in Befriending Your Obstacles'

You can't get away from suffering. That's the good news, teaches Pema Chödrön. For at the core of your most painful experiences, perhaps more than anywhere else, you will find the seeds of your awakening.
On 'Noble Heart,' this beloved American-born Buddhist nun shows you how vulnerability is your greatest spiritual resource on the path through life's difficulties.
'Noble Heart' was recorded as it happened, within the peaceful shrine room of Gampo Abbey, Ane Pema's home on the cliffs of Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia.
With four complete meditations, unique heart teachings, and Ane Pema's trademark humor, 'Noble Heart' invites you to discover for yourself the compassion and wisdom that have established her as a leading voice in American Buddhism. Includes more than nine hours of direct teachings from this revered acharya (master teacher)

Session 5: 'The Aspiration Practice of Compassion'
Ego's weak link. Your soft spot. Addiction and obsession. Dualistic Thinking, Karma meditation instruction, Far and near enemies. Pity and overwhelm. Forgiveness. More.

2-3:30 Robert Thurman, "Making the World We Want" Part 4 of 4 (concluding)
'A Passionate Examination of Buddhism's Potential to Revolutionize the Course of Humanity'

Columbia University professor Robert Thurman stands alone among scholars of Tibetan Buddhism in the West. He was the first Westerner to be ordained as a Tibetan Buddhist monk, and he is the renowned translator of many seminal Buddhist texts, including 'The Tibetan Book of the Dead.'
On 'Making the World We Want,' you will hear a very different Thurman as he speaks candidly on what he considers the most urgent issue of our time: how Buddhism is now poised to revolutionize the entire course of humanity.
In this passionate, incisive, and often hilarious joyride of the mind and spirit, Thurman explores: mindful communities as "enlightenment factories" and how they have sparked "inner" revolutions throughout history; the Buddha's philosophy of life, liberty, and the pursuit of real happiness; how compassion and nonduality spur social action; the vision of sacred texts for the future of humanity; and much more.
"The Buddha founded a quiet revolution," asserts Thurman, "a total reorientation of the habits of individuals and entire societies." On 'Making the World We Want,' you will learn how each of us can participate in this monumental revolution today.

Reading an excerpt from his newest book, Jeff explains why it's actually a daring act to choose to rest. Finally, Jeff and Tami talk about depression and the desire to die, and why that desire can be a gateway to a deeper, richer understanding of the self.

With Sounds True, Karen has published Daring to Rest: Reclaim Your Power with Yoga Nidra Rest Meditation. This is especially true for women, who are often held to the societal expectation that they serve the needs of those around them before they ever consider taking even the most necessary rest. Karen offers yoga nidra as a one part of the solution to this wave of fatigue, describing how her own practice and the cultivation of turiya-"the sleep of the yogis"-helped her move past a period of intense, chronic sleeplessness. Finally, Karen and Tami speak on the liberation in abandoning perfectionism and how yoga nidra can be folded into the course of our daily lives.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT, JANUARY 16

12-1 Dave Emory, "For the Record #1039 - Miscellaneous Articles and Updates'

In FTR #718, we warned [back in 2010] that Facebook was not the cuddly little entity it was perceived to be but a potential engine of fascism enabling. Momentum for the remarkably timed immigrant caravan that became a focal point for Trump/GOP/Fox News propaganda during the recently-concluded midterm elections was generated by a fake Facebook account, which mimicked a Honduran politician/human rights activist, Bartolo Fuentes. Significant aspects of the event:
1.-" . . . . Facebook has admitted the account was an imposter account impersonating a prominent Honduran politician. But it is refusing to release information about the account, who may have set it up or what country it originated from. . . ."
2.-" . . . . In response to a query from BuzzFeed News, a Facebook spokesperson said the phony account 'was removed for violating [the company's] misrepresentation policy,' but declined to share any further information, such as what country it originated from, what email address was used to open it, or any other details that might reveal who was behind it. Facebook added that, barring a subpoena or request from law enforcement, it does not share such information out of respect for the privacy of its users. Fuentes said he believes it's important to find out who was behind the rogue account - but hasn't gotten any answers from Facebook. 'Who knows how many messages could have been sent and who received them?' . . . ."
3.-" . . . . Fuentes has been unable to get any information from Facebook about the account, but one small detail stood out. Whoever created it listed the Honduran capital of Tegucigalpa as Fuentes's hometown, rather than the San Pedro Sula suburb of El Progreso. That might seem like a minor error, but it's the sort of mistake a foreigner - not a Honduran - would make about the well-known former lawmaker, whose left-wing party stands in opposition to the current president's administration. . . . "
4.-" . . . . It operated entirely in Spanish and precisely targeted influencers within the migrant rights community. And rather than criticize or undermine the caravan - as other online campaigns would later attempt to do - it was used to legitimize the event, making a loosely structured grassroots event appear to be a well-organized effort by an established migrant group with a proven track record of successfully bringing Central American people to the US border. . . ."
5.-" . . . . before the account got started not many people seemed to be joining. Only after the account kicked into gear did enthusiasm and participation spike. The account also claimed falsely that the caravan was being led by a migrant rights organization called Pueblo Sin Fronteras. Later, once the caravan swelled to a massive scale, the Pueblo Sin Fronteras did get involved, though in a support rather than leadership role. . . ."
6.-" . . . . It appears that this account helped the caravan gain key momentum to the point where its size became a self-fulfilling prophecy, spurring even more to join and groups which hadn't been supportive to get involved. . . ."
7.-" . . . . It's hard to believe one Facebook account could play that decisive a role. But the account seems to have been sophisticated. And it is equally difficult to believe that a sophisticator operator or organization would have gone to such trouble and limited their efforts to a single imposter account. . . ."
Christopher Wylie-the former head of research at Cambridge Analytica who became one of the key insider whistle-blowers about how Cambridge Analytica operated and the extent of Facebook's knowledge about it-gave an interview last month to Campaign Magazine. (We dealt with Cambridge Analytica in FTR #'s 946, 1021.)
Wylie recounts how, as director of research at Cambridge Analytica, his original role was to determine how the company could use the information warfare techniques used by SCL Group - Cambridge Analytica's parent company and a defense contractor providing psy op services for the British military. Wylie's job was to adapt the psychological warfare strategies that SCL had been using on the battlefield to the online space. As Wylie put it:
" . . . . When you are working in information operations projects, where your target is a combatant, the autonomy or agency of your targets is not your primary consideration. It is fair game to deny and manipulate information, coerce and exploit any mental vulnerabilities a person has, and to bring out the very worst characteristics in that person because they are an enemy...But if you port that over to a democratic system, if you run campaigns designed to undermine people's ability to make free choices and to understand what is real and not real, you are undermining democracy and treating voters in the same way as you are treating terrorists. . . . ."
Wylie also draws parallels between the psychological operations used on democratic audiences and the battlefield techniques used to be build an insurgency. It starts with targeting people more prone to having erratic traits, paranoia or conspiratorial thinking, and get them to "like" a group on social media. The information you're feeding this target audience may or may not be real. The important thing is that it's content that they already agree with so that "it feels good to see that information." Keep in mind that one of the goals of the 'psychographic profiling' that Cambridge Analytica was to identify traits like neuroticism.
Wylie goes on to describe the next step in this insurgency-building technique: keep building up the interest in the social media group that you're directing this target audience towards until it hits around 1,000-2,000 people. Then set up a real life event dedicated to the chosen disinformation topic in some local area and try to get as many of your target audience to show up. Even if only 5 percent of them show up, that's still 50-100 people converging on some local coffee shop or whatever. The people meet each other in real life and start talking about about "all these things that you've been seeing online in the depths of your den and getting angry about". This target audience starts believing that no one else is talking about this stuff because "they don't want you to know what the truth is". As Wylie puts it, "What started out as a fantasy online gets ported into the temporal world and becomes real to you because you see all these people around you."
In FTR #1028, we highlighted the killing of Mollie Tibbetts noting that:
1.-The killing may have been a provocation, directed at focusing the electorate's ire toward illegal immigrants and away from Donald Trump.
2.-The announcement about the location and arrest of the suspected perpetrator-Christhian Rivera-came on the same day that Michael Cohen copped a plea and Paul Manafort was found guilty. Was Rivera's arrest timed as a distraction?
3.-There are superficial indications that Christhian Rivera may have been subjected to mind control, a la Sirhan Sirhan.
4.-Rivera worked at a dairy facility controlled by the Lang family, prominent Iowa Republicans.
Now, we learn that Eric Lang, Craig Lang's brother-is married to Nicole Schlinger, a prominent GOP fundraiser with strong operational and historical links to the Koch brothers' networks and other GOP post-Citizens United dark money networks.
High-tech may be the future of Trump's much-ballyhooed wall with Mexico, with a technology dubbed AVATAR seen by some as the future of border security: "A virtual border agent kiosk was developed to interview travelers at airports and border crossings and it can detect deception to flag human security agents. The U.S., Canada and European Union have tested the technology, and one researcher says it has a deception detection success rate of up to 80 percent - better than human agents. The technology relies on sensors and biometrics, and its lie-detection capabilities are based on eye movements or changes in voice, posture and facial gestures. . . ."
Futurist philosopher and author Yuval Noah Harari appears to be a dystopian futurist, envisioning a future where democracy is seen as obsolete and a techno-elite ruling class run companies with the capacity to essentially control the minds of masses. Those masses that will increasingly be seen obsolete and useless. Harari even gave a recent TED Talk called "Why fascism is so tempting - and how your data could power it. So how do Silicon Valley's CEO view Mr. Harari's views? They apparently can't get enough of him:
We conclude with a look at how the SCL/Cambridge Analytica dynamic has manifested in the Russia-gate Psy-Op.
Adding further perspective to the utterly fantastic nature of the Russia-Gate "psy-op" is analysis of a recent New York Times propaganda piece hyping Russia's manipulation of Facebook to influence the U.S. election. ". . . . The further research into an earlier Consortium News article shows that a relatively paltry 80,000 posts from the private Russian company Internet Research Agency (IRA) were engulfed in literally trillions of posts on Facebook over a two-year period before and after the 2016 vote. [Just HOW a post generated after the election was supposed to influence the election was not explained by The Gray Lady-D.E.]. . . . The newspaper [The New York Times] failed to tell their readers that Facebook account holders in the United States had been "served" 33 trillion Facebook posts during that same period - 413 million times more than the 80,000 posts from the Russian company. . . ."

The ninth of a planned long series of interviews with Jim DiEugenio about his triumphal analysis of President Kennedy's assassination and New Orleans DA Jim Garrison's heroic investigation of the killing.
In this interview, we proceed into the substance of New Orleans District Attorney Jim Garrison's investigation into the JFK assassination. Garrison's inquiry began immediately after the assassination when former Guy Banister investigator Jack Martin gave information to him about one of his cronies in the "detective agency."
David Ferrie was a veteran intelligence officer with a long CV. Ferrie's intelligence resume and behavior with regard the JFK assassination...

12:30-1 Elizabeth Plourde, C.I.S., N.C.M.P., Ph.D.
"How Sunscreens and Cell Phones Promote Cancer"

ELIZABETH PLOURDE, C.L.S., N.C.M.P., Ph.D. is a Clinical Laboratory Scientist and North American Menopause Society Certified Menopause Practitioner, on the Advisory Board of the American Anti-Cancer Institute and on the Honorary Advisory Board of the Charitable Giving Foundation. She received her B.S. in Biological Science from California State University located in Hayward; M.A. in Psychology from Pepperdine in Malibu, California and Ph.D. from San Diego University for Integrative Studies, California with a dissertation titled: The Impact of Hysterectomy Versus Oophorohysterectomy On Women's Sexuality. Her training in the fields of both Medicine and Psychology is augmented by invaluable experience gained while working at Dianon Systems in Connecticut, a cutting-edge Cancer Research laboratory specializing in pathology for diagnosing and monitoring cancer.
As professor, she has taught at San Diego University for Integrative Studies and Concordia University in Irvine, both in California.

As a specialist in the complexity of how hormones function in the body, she has authored several books specializing in hormone health. Her 2013 publication EMF Freedom: Solutions For The 21st Century Pollution highlights how the electromagnetic fields of Smart meters/WiFi/Cell phones that are now radiating our bodies 24 hours a day can be connected to the increasing incidences that are being seen in cancers including brain cancers, Alzheimer's, diabetes, autoimmune diseases, anorexia, obesity and allergies. The electromagnetic sensitivity (EMS) symptoms of exposure include vertigo/dizziness, nausea, brain fog, blurred vision, tinnitus, fatigue, irritability and nerve and muscle pain. The book includes the biochemistry behind the EMS symptoms of headaches/migraines, skin rashes/tingling, shortness of breath, food allergies, heart palpitations and insomnia that many experience. It also highlights how EMF radiation can lead to infertility, as lab animals demonstrate irreversible infertility, altered fetal development and sperm morphology, as well as a reduction in testosterone. Research studies tracking the levels of EMF exposure of pregnant mothers clearly show that the amount of EMF during fetal development is directly correlated with the incidence of obesity and asthma seen in the children.

Today it is the electromagnetically sensitive individuals that are seeking help for unexplained illnesses. However, with the number of wireless devices worldwide surpassing the number of people on the planet, the cumulative effect of radiation will increasingly impact more and more people needing to find relief from their symptoms. Dr. Plourde's book also includes the protective practices she needed to implement to be able to work again, as she could not once Smart meters were installed in her city.

Her other three books include Sunscreens Biohazard: Treat As Hazardous Waste; Your Guide To Hysterectomy, Ovary Removal & Hormone Replacement; and Hysterectomy? The Best Or Worst Thing To Ever Happen To Me?
Dr. Plourde may be contacted through her office New Voice For Health located in Irvine, California, by phone 949-551-3397, fax 949-552-9041, email elizabeth@newvoice.net and website www.emffreedom.com

1-1:30 Archie Scott
"DMSO in the Treatment of Cancer, Brain Injuries, and Other Problems"

ARCHIE SCOTT, Researcher & Writer has become one of the foremost authorities on the medical use of DMSO. He is perhaps best known as the developer in 1975 of the original protocols for the use of the DMSO/Laetrile combination by the intravenous slow drip technique for the treatment of cancer. This treatment is still used by many cancer clinics around the world. In April of 2011 he wrote the protocol for the treatment of radiation poisoning by the use of DMSO.
He is a 1959 graduate with a B.S. Degree in Science from Oregon State University. A basketball knee injury in his senior year of high school prevented him from obtaining a college track scholarship, but this injury along with a later football injury to his other knee resulted in his becoming interested in the use of DMSO for the treatment of athletic injuries. After meeting with Stan Jacob, M.D. at Oregon Health Sciences University, he became interested in the use of DMSO for a wide range of conditions.

Archie has been a consultant for Clinics in California, Oregon, Nevada, Florida, New York and Mexico for many years. He was also a Consultant for a 6-month research program using DMSO in the treatment of brain damaged children at the Fairview State Hospital in Costa Mesa, California. He is currently involved in the treatment of brain damage in former football players.
Archie is also the author of his DMSO Handbook For Doctors, which was published this year.

1:30-2 Peter Starr, Producer. "The Latest on Prostate Cancer"

PETER STARR, PRODUCER, was born in Coventry, England and came to the United States in 1978. During his long and eclectic career in the entertainment business Peter has been honored with:
14 major international awards for filmmaking, including the Chicago (Gold) and Houston (Silver) International Film Festivals and the Silver and Fold Awards at the International Radio Programming Awards, New York, and has been inducted into the Trailblazers's Hall of Fame.
But his entertainment career came to a screeching halt in June 2004 when he was diagnosed with prostate cancer. Since then he has concentrated on learning about restoring his own health while reversing his disease. His journey took him to 8 countries on 3 continents where he learned from and interviewed 56 doctors and other health practitioners and researchers. This intense schooling and its practical application lead to the production of his landmark documentary Surviving Prostate Cancer Without Surgery, Drugs or Radiation, which will soon be seen in truncated form on PBS (Public Broadcasting Station).
To further Peter's desire to educate men similarly diagnosed, he formed the Healing Arts Education Foundation, a 501c3 charity, charged with communicating to men and their wives, the full story of the disease and its cause, while sharing the need for an understanding of natural, but life changing opportunities to reverse the disease.
In addition to the completed documentary, available in a 3 DVD set with a 40 page resource guide including a doctor's list from the Foundation's website, Peter is soon to offer a book called Supplements For A Healthy Prostate and a larger volume Prostate Cancer, Why We Get It & What to Do About It. Peter is a regular contributor to Healthcare Weekly Review, writing about natural health issues.
Peter can be reached at his Healing Arts Education Foundation at 310-312-0012 or through his website www.survivingprostatecancer.org

2-2:30 Paul Stamets: "Mushrooms, Bees, and Saving the World, 2018"
(edited from 60 minute TUC Program)
As forests burn across the US and misguided attempts to prevent fires by clear-cutting or raking the forest floor are being proposed, TUC Radio remembers the mycologist and author Paul Stamets. He is calling attention to the fact that old growth forests contain organisms that can heal us, feed us, or kill us.
More than any other scientist practicing today, Paul Stamets has dedicated himself to the life of fungi and that of their underground support system, the mycelium. Stamets says that the mycelia are soil magicians. They give rise not just to mushrooms but form an integral part of the forest ecosystem. The mycelia are disassemblers, creating the debris fields that then feed their fungal descendants. They also show purpose in choosing microbial allies, and Stamets believes they are part of the earth's natural internet that is in constant bio-molecular communication, governing the ecosystem.
Paul Stamets has studied mushrooms for over 40 years. He discovered new species of fungi, saved ancient ones from extinction, and pioneered countless techniques of mushroom cultivation. Along the way he found many ways how fungi can be healers of people and the environment.
His premise is that that mushroom mycelium connects the immune systems between humans and environment - and that premise has been proven many times in his collaborations with scientific institutions and labs.

2:30-3 Fire and the Underground Life in the Forest - Peter Wohlleben and Suzanne Simard
As California tries to come to terms with the largest and deadliest fires of 2018, attention falls on forests. Logging companies want more clear-cuts. Donald Trump says the forest floor should be cleaned with rakes.
Indigenous elders and visionary foresters say that nobody is asking the trees what they want and need. Especially now as the heat is rising, water becomes scarce and winds are fiercer.
Peter Wohlleben is the author of: "The Hidden Life of Trees: What they Feel, How they Communicate: Discoveries from a Secret World". He is a German forester who became disenchanted by the technologies he was expected to employ. He now manages a 4000 year old beech tree forest in Germany. He was interviewed by Steve Paikin on The Agenda in October, 2016.
Wohlleben referred to research by colleagues and scientists that he benefitted from. Important among them is Suzanne Simard, professor of forest ecology at the University of British Columbia. She has tested theories about how trees communicate with other trees.
Simard also helped identify something called a hub tree, or "mother tree". Mother trees are the largest trees in forests that act as central hubs for vast below-ground mycorrhizal networks.

This program is made up of short clips from the Steve Paikin interview of Wohlleben, a clip of Simard from an interview by Dan McKinney, followed by quotes from her frequent presentations on TED talks.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT, JANUARY 9

12-1 Dave Emory "For the Record #1037 - Interview #7 with Jim Eugenio about 'Destiny Betrayed'

The seventh of a planned long series of interviews with Jim DiEugenio about his triumphal analysis of President Kennedy's assassination and New Orleans DA Jim Garrison's heroic investigation of the killing, this program continues analysis of the development of the legend (intelligence cover) of Lee Harvey Oswald.

(Listeners can order Destiny Betrayed and Jim's other books, as well as supplementing those volumes with articles about this country's political assassinations at his website Kennedys and King. Jim is also a regular guest and expert commentator on Black Op Radio.)

The program begins with review and further development of some of "Communist traitor" Lee Harvey Oswald's curious associations upon his (apparently unobstructed) return to the United States.

Having threatened to commit treason by disclosing classified information about U.S. air operations, (the U-2 being the salient item), Oswald is met not by the CIA, not by the FBI, but by Spas T. Raikin, the Secretary General of the Anti-Bolshevik Bloc of Nations. Originally called the Committee of Subjugated Nations when it was formed by Adolf Hitler in 1943, the Anti-Bolshevik Bloc of Nations became, in turn, an integral part of the Reinhard Gehlen spy outfit, a key element of the former World Anti-Communist League, and an important part of the Republican Party.
