In the spring of 2012, Daniel Sheehan taught a class at UCSC outlining the major cases he has litigated over the years. The class starts with stories from Harvard Law School and works through the Pentagon Papers, the Karen Silkwood case, and the Iran Contra scandal, to name a few. Many of the stories told in the class are also told in Sheehan's first book, ''The People's Advocate."

An independent movie on the question "Where does money come from?" became the most successful film on banking on the internet and was praised by notables like Catherine Austin Fitts, David Korten, Hazel Henderson, and Tom Greco. With over 2 million downloads between 2006 and 2009 and translated into 20 languages, the film has remained to this date one of the extraordinary teaching tools and inspiration for the monetary reform movement. This program is an update of TUC Radio's 2009 Film on Radio version.
Even though Grignon has since produced two sequels that deal with bailouts and stimulus packages, and how to create a nurturing economy, this first film remains a must see in the opinion of Korten, Greco, and that of many influential monetary reform organizations. Indeed the film has become more important today as the question of how to prevent another banking bailout remains unanswered.
In part one of this double program Paul Grignon makes the case that only a very small part of our money supply is created by the government. The vast majority of money is created by banks whenever a loan or mortgage is made. Banks, which are private institutions, are given enormous power to make and manage money; and governments in most countries borrow the money for their operations from banks and have the taxpayers pay the interest.

Among the unforgettable quotes included in the film is this one by Congressman Wright Patman "I have never yet had anyone who could, through the use of logic and reason, justify the Federal Government borrowing the use of its own money... I believe the time will come when people will demand that this be changed...(and) when they will actually blame you and me and everyone else connected with the Congress for sitting idly by and permitting such an idiotic system to continue." 12-12:30 Fluoridation on Trial: RFK, Jr.'s Conversation with Attorney Michael Connett

In August, a landmark David-versus-Goliath federal lawsuit brought by citizens against the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to end fluoridation of drinking water took another giant step forward. The lawsuit-spearheaded by a coalition of nonprofits and individual citizens-resulted in a two-week trial in June (via video conference) that synthesized the findings of hundreds of studies, including two landmark birth cohort studies funded by the National Institutes of Health. The evidence, which included important admissions from EPA's own scientists, makes clear that the fluoridation chemicals consumed by over 200 million Americans present an unreasonable risk of neurotoxic effects, including reduced IQ and ADHD symptoms, particularly for babies in the womb and bottle-fed infants. Buttressed by a 2,500-page Citizens Petition and the expert testimony of four internationally recognized scientists, lead attorney Michael Connett asserted that the EPA has been derelict in its duty, spelled out under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), to limit or ban toxic chemicals that pose unreasonable risks-and especially, as this case underscored, risks to the developing brain.

The late Park Won-soon was a leading political reformer and critic in South Korean politics, as well as being a probable candidate in the 2022 presidential campaign. Of particular significance in assessing the suspicious circumstances of his death are the overlapping areas in which his criticism placed him afoul of political, economic and historical dynamics stemming from the Japanese Golden Lily program and the placement of that consummate wealth at the foundation of the post-World War II American and global system.

In addition, the "Black Gold" accumulated through the Golden Lily program and Nazi loot provided an economic foundation for post-World War II covert operations. (FTR #'s 427, 428, 446, 451, 501, 688, 689, 1106, 1107 & 1108 deal with the subject of the Golden Lily program successfully implemented by the Japanese to loot Asia.)
An advocate of reconciliation between North and South Korea, Park Won-soon's stance on the two nations placed him at odds with prevailing American, South Korean and Japanese national security policy.

A lawsuit was filed by a conservative South Korean lawyer against the Kim Yo-jong, the sister of North Korean ruler Kim Jong-un. This is noteworthy in the context of the death of Park Won-soon, who was an advocate of reconciliation between North and South Korea. Korean right-wingers have called him a "commie" for his advocacy of improved relations between the countries.

Relations between the Koreas are very much on the front burner.
Much of the program details the centuries-long Japanese looting of Korea, culminating in Japan's 1905 colonization of that country. In 1910, Korea was declared to be Japanese national territory, thereby denominating all material and cultural wealth of Korea as Japanese.

The bulk of the program consists of a history of Japan's colonization of Korea. That colonial occupation was a major target of the late Park Won-soon's criticism...

Talk about an odd couple. The 45th president and the Christian right. For the president, renowned for his wayward ways, the support from some of the mega-churches and their high priests form a key part of his base. According to a Pew poll, over 80% of white evangelicals said they will vote for the current occupant of the Oval Office. The Christian right looks the other way when confronted with the facts. For them, it's all about opposing same-sex marriage and abortion, funding religious-based schools, ensuring right-wing judges are appointed, and embracing nationalism, militarism and imperialism. There is enough hypocrisy to fill many bookshelves. Just see Jerry Falwell, Jr. Sometimes it's hard to keep the faith.

2-3 "California Burning" Part 1

A 5-part series deeply exploring of the California wildfire problem. Public Radio Veteran, Matt Fidler, combines on-location interviews with experts who understand wildfire the best, and NPR-style story telling to give listeners a non-political perspective on how to best approach a problem that is becoming increasingly destructive and deadly.

Natural disasters are increasing across the nation. In the West, these disasters often come in the form of wildfire, and perhaps no State understands the true cost of wildfire as California. While the Golden State has always had forest fires, these conflagrations are progressively becoming harder to control and more deadly. At the same time, California’s population has surpassed 40 million, pushing people further into wild spaces that have been adapted to fire. California Burning takes a deep and critical look at how the states fire-prone forests have been managed, and how we can all learn from the past to be better stewards of the land and avoid catastrophic wildfires in the future.

On the first episode of California Burning, we explore the history of the Forestry Department, and how a series of unprecedented wildfires lead to policies that have made our forests ripe for even more catastrophic fires. Forest historians Steven Pyne and Char Miller tell the story.

On this episode we also hear from Smokey Bear Biographer James Lewis to learn about the rich history of the most effective advertising campaign in American History and how the effectiveness of that campaign led to a deep misunderstanding of fire ecology. Produced in 2019.

On August 10, 2020 Economics Professor Richard Wolff invited Nomi Prins, the former Wall Street executive turned whistle blower, author and investigative journalist, on his weekly show: ''Economic Update.'' They discussed the consequences of the increasingly larger infusions of cash that the Federal Reserve injects when there is a crisis. First for the dot com of 2000 – then the subprime of 2008 and now the covid 19 crisis. Professor Richard Wolff began with his ten minute news segment.

Nomi Prins has written for The New York Times, Fortune, Newsday, Mother Jones, The Guardian, The Nation and other publications. She was also a member of Senator Bernie Sanders panel of top economic experts to advise on Federal Reserve reform.

Richard Wolff is Professor Emeritus of Economics at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and currently a Visiting Professor in the Graduate Program of the New School University in New York. He is a frequent guest of Chris Hedges, Thom Hartmann, George Galloway, Abby Martin and on Democracy Now and even Fox.

JULY 31, 2020 - "Children's Health Defense Holds Press Conference on Evidentiary Brief Submission in CHD V. FCC Lawsuit"

CHD’s commitment to stopping the harmful exposure of our children to 5G and wireless radiation continues with unprecedented litigation against the FCC. The illuminating press conference on this action was held the day after CHD filed its evidentiary brief in its landmark case. The brief was filed jointly with the Environmental Health Trust.

The case itself challenges the FCC’s refusal to review its 25-year-old obsolete wireless “health guidelines”and to promulgate scientific, human evidence-based radio frequency emissions (“RF”) rules that adequately protect public health. The FCC’s false “health guidelines” have enabled the uncontrolled proliferation of harmful wireless technology and more recently, the deployment of dangerous 5G installations.

CHD’s lawsuit asserts that the FCC’s refusal to update these guidelines despite the submission of overwhelming evidence of harm from wireless technology radiation, is capricious, arbitrary, not evidence based, and an abuse of its discretion. The success of our case will be a game changer in the battle to stop Big Tech from further damaging children and all life.

This evidentiary brief is the main submission in our case and provides the evidence upon which the petitioners rely. It cites thousands of studies, including those conducted by U.S. government agencies, and numerous reports that show clear evidence of harm. It also outlines scientifically the established mechanisms of harm from wireless radiation. Additionally, the brief shines a light on the human evidence of widespread sickness, which the FCC ignored when it egregiously closed its docket on the issue on Dec. 4 2019.

This illuminating and celebratory press conference was held the day after CHD filed its brief .

Speakers included: Robert F. Kennedy Jr., CHD Chairman; Dafna Tachover, Esq. MBA, CHD’s Director of 5G & Wireless Harms Project; Scott McCollough, Esq., CHD’s attorney; and David Carpenter, M.D., a Petitioner in the case; as well as parents who submitted affidavits in the case describing their children’s injuries and death from wireless radiation.

BEHIND THE SCENES

Our $200,000 mini-drive was a SUCCESS!! And the 'Something's Happening!' listeners came through with over $8750.00 in contributions on the phone and online. I was fearful that with Diane and I pre-recording from our shelter-in-home situation we would have lost emotional contact with the listeners. But Buzz came through with his skillful work at the station.

On August 18th, we will begin our "Silent Campaign" into the fall. Silent campaigns are radio station fundraising events that primarily utilize direct mail, social media, email, stream pre-roll, and minimal on-air time to make appeals. These efforts are aimed at the least disruption to regular programming, while still impressing the audience the importance of donations to support our station's programming and operations.

KPFK will be participating in a statewide (first ever) Public Radio Giving Day on August 27th. There will be some good PR behind this as well. Details will be forthcoming.

Jim Gottstein is an attorney in Alaska, with a law degree from Harvard Law School who has been representing and advocating for sane psychiatric treatment for individuals diagnosed with a mental illness. In 2002 he founded the Law Project for Psychiatric Rights to mount a strategic litigation campaign against forced psychiatric drugging and electroshock therapy. The Project is committed to informing the public about the counterproductive and harmful effects of conventional psychiatric treatments. He is the author of the book “The Zyprexa Papers” which recounts the story and first-hand account of corruption about one of the most prescribed psychiatric drugs for mental disorders. The drug’s maker, Eli Lilly intentionally concealed that its top selling drug caused diabetes and other life-shortening metabolic conditions; it also illegally promoted Zyprexa on children and the elderly. Upon receipt of documents, Eli Lilly threatened Jim with criminal contempt charges. 12-1 Dave Emory, ‘’For The Record #1139 The Anthrax Attacks, the Invasion of Iraq and Expansion of Biological Warfare Capabilities’’

As the title indicates, this program presents political and historical foundation for the exponential expansion of American biological warfare infrastructure following the 2001 anthrax attacks.

Important background information comes from the Whitney Webb article about DARPA spending on bat-borne coronaviruses.

The Broadcasting Board of Governors–a CIA “derivative”–and The Washington Times (owned by the Unification Church) helped develop disinformation about SARS CoV‑2 coming from a Chinese Biological Warfare lab. Both were instrumental in hyping the anthrax attacks as authored by Saddam Hussein, as well. The Washington Times also presented information floated by Steven Hatfill that foreshadowed subsequent charges that Saddam Hussein was developing bioweapons and was behind the 2001 anthrax attacks.

In addition, the Project For a New American Century was advancing an agenda in which genetically-engineered biological warfare technology as essential to continued American global dominance.

As will be seen below, a key functionary in the PNAC milieu was former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, former chairman of the board of Gilead Sciences.

In FTR #‘s 1135, 1136 and 1137, we relied heavily on the Kris Newby’s ‘’Bitten: The Secret History of Lyme Disease and Biological Weapons.’’ In that book, Ms. Newby networked with a group of experienced, Cold War biological warfare professionals whom she termed “the Brain Trust.” They were convinced that Fort Detrick scientist Bruce Ivins–the “lone nut” who conveniently committed suicide and was fingered as the sole perpetrator of the 2001 anthrax attacks–was framed. ” . . . . Among other subjects, they discussed . . . technical details on why they believed that their colleague Bruce Ivins had been framed as the anthrax mailer . . . .”

Much of the program centers on the 2001 attacks and the suspicion that focused on Steven Hatfill as a possible perpetrator of them. Although exonerated in the attacks, Hatfill was the focal point of considerable suspicion in connection with the event. Our suspicion is that he is an operative of one or another intelligence agency, CIA being the most probable.

We suspect that the anthrax attacks were a provocation aimed at justifying the invasion of Iraq and spurring development of the U.S. biological warfare capability.

Of particular note is the apparent “operational Teflon” worn by Hatfill. Although circumstantial evidence pointed in his direction, he appeared to be altogether “off limits” to investigative elements of Alphabet Soup. Don Foster noted the unusual treatment accorded to Hatfill by the powers that be.

Of significance, as well, are the numerous examples of foreshadowing of the forensic circumstances of the anthrax attacks, as well as other “false alarm” incidents that occurred before and after the fatal attacks. It requires little to see statements and articles by notables such as Bill Patrick and the seemingly ubiquitous Steven Hatfill as laying a foundation of credibility for subsequent events.

Note that the National Institutes of Health have also partnered with CIA and the Pentagon, as underscored by an article about a BSL‑4 lab at Boston University….

12-1 Dave Emory, ‘‘For the Record #1137 - Lyme Disease and Biological Warfare, Part 3”

Further developing the links between biological warfare research and the Lyme Disease establishment, we review information from FTR #585.

At every turn, Lyme disease research is inextricably linked with biological warfare research. Divided into the “Steere” and “ILADS” camps, the Lyme disease research community is split between the view that the disease is “hard-to-catch, easy-to-cure” and the diametrically opposed view that the disease is very serious and produces long-term neurological disorder. The Steere camp diminishes the significance of the disease and is closely identified with biological warfare research. At the epicenter of Lyme disease research (and the Steere camp) are members of the Epidemic Intelligence Service, or EIS. EIS personnel are to be found at every bend in the road of Lyme disease research.

The Borrelia genus has long been researched as a biological warfare vector. Note that Unit 731 personnel and their files were put to work for the United States after World War II, much like the Project Paperclip scientists from Germany. ” . . . borrelia were known for their ability to adopt different forms under conditions of stress (such as exposure to antibiotics). Shedding their outer wall, (which is the target of penicillin and related drugs), they could ward off attack and continue to exist in the body. . .”

Much of the program is devoted to excerpting and analysis of a 2013 posting by Elena Cook. This discussion of “Spirochete Warfare,” in turn, makes liberal use of material from a 1944 text about Japan’s biological warfare program. This book “Japan’s Secret Weapon,” contains a great deal of information about Japanese pioneering of the use of spirochetes as biological warfare organisms.

This material is to be considered in the historical and political context of the incorporation of the key personnel and files of the notorious Japanese Unit 731 biological warfare division into the U.S. BW program after World War II….

The program concludes with more experimental evidence of the production of amyloid deposits characteristic of Alzheimer’s Disease: ” . . . To determine whether an analogous host reaction to that occurring in AD could be induced by infectious agents, we exposed mammalian glial and neuronal cells in vitro to Borrelia burgdorferi spirochetes . . . Morphological changes analogous to the amyloid deposits of AD brain were observed following 2–8 weeks of exposure to the spirochetes. . . These observations indicate that, by exposure to bacteria or to their toxic products, host responses similar in nature to those observed in AD may be induced.

12-6 “The Last Train from Hiroshima”

This gripping and amazing book will be partially read in part because August 6 and “August 9^th are the 75^th Anniversaries of the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, signaling the end of WW II. The importance of this anniversary is particularly emphasized because in 2020, after 75 years of non use of the nuclear bomb, the ‘red button’ is in the hands of a psychopath.

Several decades ago I heard a short news clip about 30 Japanese who survived the Hiroshima bomb and then took the train to Nagasaki in time to be bombed a second time, and survive. When this book was published in 2010 it was the answer of a lot of questions I had harbored for decades, with gripping details far beyond my wonderment. This book was a must for the program, so I contacted Tantor Media for permission and then Charles Pellegrino about - ummm – controversy!

Mr. Pellegrino told me that he had been given false information by an American interviewee pertaining to details on the preparation of the bomb on the B-29, Enola Gay, on the island of Tinian. Thus this adventure is left out of the replay on KPFK. As I recall, I played the entire rest of the book (13 hours) a couple of times in previous August years. But this year we’ll hear a portion of the book as much as time allows in one night.

In 1945, I celebrated the victory of the bomb and the end of the war which had been part of my whole life, and Peace was something new. I became an ‘expert’ in the atomic bomb as much as my age allowed. In my childhood, one of the great questions about my future, in fact, was whether to be a soldier, sailor, or marine.   Pacifica Radio played no small part in altering my plans.

I think that this partial reading of “The Last Train from Hiroshima” will enforce or alter your feelings about atomic war.
