12-1 Dave Emory, “For the Record #1241: How Many Lies Before You Belong to The Lies? Part 14”

Continuing our coverage of the Ukraine War, we note Gennadiy Druzenko–the head of Ukraine’s Military Medical Service– and his order to castrate all Russian POW’s.

Can you imagine the media uproar if the head of Russia’s military medical branch gave an order to castrate all Ukrainian POW’s?

The program begins with a synoptic, telescoped view of the OUN/B, a key component of the Gehlen “Org,” itself a front for the Odessa–the Nazi SS postwar operational underground.

The program begins with a synoptic, telescoped view of the OUN/B, a key component of the Gehlen “Org,” itself a front for the Odessa–the Nazi SS postwar operational underground.

” . . . . His [Gehlen’s] FHO was connected in this role with a number of secret fascist organizations in the countries to Germany’s east. These included Stepan Bandera’s ‘B Faction’ of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN/B),15. Romania’s Iron Guard,16 the Ustachis of Yugoslavia,17 the Vanagis of Latvia. . . . The military intelligence historian Colonel William Corson put it most succinctly, ‘Gehlen’s organization was designed to protect the Odessa Nazis. It amounts to an exceptionally well-orchestrated diversion.’. . .”

The discussion accesses a post Mr. Emory crafted in November of 2015.

Pravy Sektor associate Valentyn Nalyvaichenko had been the head of the SBU (Ukrainian intelligence service) since the Maidan Coup, up until his ouster in June of 2015. Not surprisingly, he had operated the organization along the lines of the OUN/B.

Previously, he had served in that same capacity under Viktor Yuschenko, seeing the outfit as a vehicle for rewriting Ukraine’s history in accordance with the historical revisionism favored by the OUN/B.

Very close to Pravy Sektor head Dymitro Yarosh, Nalyvaichenko employed Yarosh while serving in the Ukrainian parliament. Yarosh claims that the two collaborated on “anti-terrorist” operations conducted against ethnic Russians.

Bear in mind that the SBU has been the “cognitive window” through which the events in Ukraine have been processed.

1-2 Fascism & Resistance in India

Program #ROYA024. Recorded in Austin, TX on April 19, 2022.

Fascism in India? It’s a secular republic, according to its constitution but the country under its prime minister Narender Modi and his Bharatiya Janata Party, the BJP, has drifted sharply to the religious right. The BJP ideology is Hindutva, Hindu nationalism. Its mother ship and muscle is the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, the RSS. It’s a Hindu nationalist paramilitary organization, inspired by Mussolini and Hitler, and has millions of members. Not much is known about what’s actually going on in India beyond cliches such as the world’s largest democracy, yoga and ashrams, tandoori chicken and spicy samosas. The reality is in stark contrast with the carefully crafted exported image. The BJP/RSS axis has demonized and targeted India’s large Muslim minority. There have been pogroms and lynchings. People are pushing back and resisting. Recorded at the University of Texas.

Arundhati Roy is a world-renowned writer and global justice activist. The New York Times calls her, “India’s most impassioned critic of globalization and American influence.” She is the author of the novels The God of Small Things, for which she received the Booker Prize, and The Ministry of Utmost Happiness. Her book of interviews with David Barsamian is The Checkbook & the Cruise Missile. Her essay books MySeditious Heart and Azadi are both published by Haymarket. 2-2:30 The Chris Hedges Report The Long Road Home, Part 1

This episode is the first of a two-part series called The Long Road Home, looking at the hurdles placed before those those who leave prison and struggle to reenter society.

Welcome to the Chris Hedges Report. The United States has 25 percent of the world’s prison population, some 2.3 million people, most of whom are poor, although it represents less than 5 percent of the global population. Its prisons are notorious for their violence, overcrowding and human rights abuses, including the widespread use of solitary confinement. But what is often not examined is that happens to those released from prisons into a society where they face legalized discrimination imposed by numerous laws, rules and policies that result in permanent marginalization, thrust into a criminal caste system. These former prisoners are often denied the right to vote, can lose their passports, are barred from receiving public assistance, including housing, and blocked from a variety of jobs. They must often repay exorbitant fines, abide by arbitrary rules imposed by probation officers, and avoid committing even minor criminal offenses if they go back to prison. The hurdles placed before them are momentous and help explain why within five years a staggering 76 percent return to prison. Today, in the first for a two-part series called A Long Road Home, we look at what happens to those in the United States who leave prison and struggle to reenter society through the eyes of five former prisoners, all of whom I taught in the college degree program offered by Rutgers University in the New Jersey prison system, who collectively spent 119 years in prison.

1-2 Insights at the Edge: George Mumford “No Struggle, No Swag”

In this podcast, George speaks with Sounds True founder, Tami Simon, about seeing clearly, loving greatly, and “finding your swag” through the struggles we encounter in pursuit of our goals. George and Tami discuss: His personal journey from the basketball court to the path of meditation and mindfulness; the Four A’s: awareness, acceptance, action, and assessment; right effort and balance, or how “slow is smooth and smooth is fast”; generating hope and optimism instead of falling into fear and negativity; uncovering the “masterpiece” of your inner nature; the importance of self-honesty; “pure performance” in business or athletics; and more.

George Mumford is a world-renowned mindfulness coach who has since 1989 worked with people from all walks of life to help us reach our full potential in whatever we aspire to. A former basketball player at the University of Massachusetts, injuries forced George out of basketball and eventually into an addiction to pain medication and drugs. With the help of meditation and the practice of mindfulness, George got clean and made it his mission to teach and work with others. He is the author of the book The Mindful Athlete: Secrets to Pure Performance.
