Referendum 2021

You will have the opportunity to vote in a referendum for 30 days starting June 7th to replace the Pacifica Foundation’s bylaws with new bylaws proposed by a group of Pacifica members. If adopted, significant modifications will be made to the foundation’s governance structure affecting both the national and local station boards, including how you, as a listener sponsor, are represented and can participate. To assist you in navigating the complex issues, a graphics-based voter guide is under development and can be viewed here -

BEHIND THE SCENES

Øn April 20, the Pacifica Foundation sent a review of the Foundation including:

“The Los Angeles station KPFK has implemented a 30% reduction in expenses in response a $700K deficit in 2020. Pacifica management, in consultation with the Pacifica National Board had to reluctantly make staff cuts as KPFK was reaching a crisis point, and getting close to not being able to make payroll or pay bills. Terms were negotiated with the unions involved in order to ensure that all severance pay and other obligations were provided. This action, while not easy, should restore KPFK to fiscal sustainability.”

While the 30 percent reduction was the goal, we have received no word about the discussed layoffs of Buzz and me and the connected continuance or disappearance of “Something’s Happening!’’ More than 200 letters have been sent to the national board and interim executive director from our listeners and at last posting, “Something’s Happening!’’ has rated #1 program in pledges during the current fund drive. But in order to not to cheat our supporters, we are still advising that pledges be made as monthly sustainer payments to provide you more control over your investment. ($5 or more per month).

To send an email to the Interim Executive Director. ED@pacifica.org

(You can send a single email to both places)

‘Viva Zapata’. (11/3/52)

Based on the 1952 20th Century-Fox Film by John Steinbeck.

Starring Charlton Heston and Jean Peters. (the film starred Marlon Brando)

‘’The story concerns the real life Mexican Revolutionary Emiliano Zapata (1877?-1919) and his real life attempts to free his countrymen from oppression.’’

We’re jumping our Lux date forward this month in our usual recognition of May 5, Cinco de Mayo which is not Independence Day which is September 16, but the ousting of Emperor Maximilian and Carlotta. This drama is rather a generalized true story of the fight for freedom in Mexico.

‘This Week’ With Mary + Polly: India’s Health Ambassador Dies One Day After Vaccine + Facing a Vaccine Mandate? Here’s What to Do + More

In “This Week” with Mary Holland, Children’s Health Defense president, and Polly Tommey, co-producer of “Vaxxed,” Mary and Polly discuss the latest COVID vaccine news.

By

Children's Health Defense Team

The Defender is experiencing censorship on many social channels. Be sure to stay in touch with the news that matters by subscribing to our top news of the day. It's free.

This week, Mary Holland, Children’s Health Defense president, and Polly Tommey, co-producer of “Vaxxed,” cover the latest COVID headlines, including Pfizer’s news about a “single pill home cure” for COVID, a new private-public partnership (riddled with conflicts of interest) to fight the next pandemic and a “ridiculous” New York Times articleabout what parents should do if they’re vaccinated, but their kids aren’t.

Also in the news this week: enrolling kids in clinical trials, West Virginia is offering $100 savings bonds in exchange for getting vaccinated and Canadian police refuse to make random stops to enforce stay-at-home orders.

Here are some of this week’s highlights:
Connecticut repealed the religious exemption for vaccines (except for those students who had exemptions on file before April 27), despite nearly 4,000 people showing up to protest. But the law will be challenged because 1. lawmakers can’t pass a mandate based on a “medical emergency” yet allow all those students with exemptions to continue through years of school unvaccinated; and 2. because of the grandfathered exemptions, the state is now not treating all students equally under the law.
Nature, a prestigious international science journal that produces peer-reviewed studies, ran an editorial by Peter Hotez calling out “anti-vaxxers” as “aggressive, domestic terrorists and advocating tougher action against them. “They’re panicking,” Mary said.
As predicted, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention voted to resume the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, with no restrictions and without requiring a label warning about blood clots.
An opinion piece in the New York Times addressed the growing number of reports of COVID vaccines affecting women’s menstrual cycle. “Amazing that they published that,” said Mary — and be sure to read all the comments under the article.
Injured by a vaccine? Report it to the Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System, VaxxTracker and Children’s Health Defense, here’s how.
The Defender reported on a study suggesting the Pfizer vaccine may cause heart inflammation in people under 30, and the New York Post reported COVID vaccines may cause shingles. Mary’s reaction: “How can they continue to say the benefits of these vaccines outweigh the risks — how do they know that?”
CNBC and The Defender reported on colleges and employers mandating COVID vaccines. “We need an advocacy strategy, along with the legal strategy,” Mary said. CHD has created these downloadable letters for people facing mandates: notice for Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) vaccines; notice for EUA testing; and notice for EUA masks.
Moderna and Pfizer announced their vaccines “are safe during pregnancy,” but even the CDC walked back that claim. “How can you assert something is safe in pregnancy without seeing how the fetus develops over several years?” True mission, market for pharma, no safety testing, no clinical trials,
In Denmark, 37 people are seeking compensation for side effects suffered after taking the AstraZeneca vaccine, which has since been discontinued in the country.
India’s health ambassador, a healthy 59-year-old, died one day after receiving a COVID vaccine in a publicly televised event aimed at encouraging others to get vaccinated.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT, MAY 5

12-1 Dave Emory, ‘’For the Record #1174 - Harvest Time Part 1’’

The title refers to the U.S. and its citizens harvesting the crops risen from deadly seeds sown for decades. The Capitol Riot was one of those.

It is to the U.S. as the Beerhall Putsch of 1923 was to Germany–a harbinger of things to come.

The program begins with discussion of Richard Hofstadter, whose theories have been bruited about in the wake of the Capitol Riot. An icon of the mainstream media and the so-called progressive sector, Hofstadter’s work was underwritten by the CIA.

In the context of Hofstadter’s work being underwritten by CIA, one of the factors allowing the seeds of evil to grow has been the government financing of much of U.S. political life.

Intellectual curiosity has been dampened by financial gain.

The armed confrontation in the Capitol reminded us of a confrontation that took place in Parkland Hospital on 11/22/1963.

A contingent of Secret Service agents and Kennedy aide Kenneth O’Donnell confronted and threatened Parkland physicians who were going to autopsy President Kennedy’s body in accordance with law.

(Author Joseph McBride presents convincing evidence that O’Donnell faced probable indictment for corruption. He helped arrange the Kennedy motorcade route through Dealey Plaza, setting JFK up for assassination. O’Donnell succumbed to alcoholism, dying in 1977.)

McBride—drawing on scholarship by numerous authors and researchers—concludes that the Federal agents were intent on preventing an autopsy in Dallas, so that JFK’s body could be surgically altered to obscure the fact that Kennedy was killed in a crossfire.

The “official version” of the murder—an institutionalized historical fiction–maintains that Oswald—the lone assassin—slew Kennedy by firing from the rear.

Analysis of the Capitol Riot highlights a “Before” and an “After.”

Even relatively staid political and national security insiders, as well as media outlets openly expressed fear after a series of post-election shuffling by Trump at the Pentagon.

” . . . . there is speculation that more defense officials may be on their way out and that this is just the beginning — even with only 70 days until the Biden administration takes over. . . . The flurry of departures apparently sent shockwaves through the Department of Defense. A defense official told CNN that the situation was ‘unsettling,’ adding that ‘these are dictator moves.’ The Associated Press wrote that ‘unease was palpable inside’ the Pentagon Tuesday. . . . ‘I’ve been shot at a lot. I’ve been nearly killed a bunch of times. I’m not an alarmist. I try to stay cool under pressure. Mark me down as alarmed,’ retired four-star Gen. Barry McCaffrey said on MSNBC Wednesday. . . .”

Unnamed officials in NATO countries have opined that the events of 1/6/2021 were a coup attempt by Trump’s forces.

In addition, there is an ongoing investigation of an active duty PSYOP officer who operated under the Special Forces command structure for leading a contingent of 100 strong to the “rally” on 1/6/2021.

As veteran listeners/readers will no doubt realize, these events are to be seen against the background of numerous programs and posts highlighting Specialized Knowledge and Abilities and Serpent’s Walk.

Notable among the crocodiles shedding tears over the Capitol Riot was former President George W. Bush. Condemning the riot in one breath, he intoned that he would be attending the inauguration and that “ . . . . witnessing the peaceful transfer of power is a hallmark of our democracy that never gets old,’ he added. . . .”

The program concludes with discussion of some of the Nazi connections to the 9/11 attacks, as well as to the business relationship between Dubya and the Bin Laden family.
