MONDAY NIGHT, APRIL 29

12-1:30 Daniel Sheehan “Trajectory of Justice” #7

‘What Mueller Missed: The Narrative Nobody is Talking About’

Class delivered April 23 at U.C. Santa Cruz

Dan Sheehan initiated and litigated both the case that established, before The United States Supreme Court, the right of unmarried persons to access to birth control information and devises and the case that established, again as the result
of a United States Supreme Court case, the right of American journalists to protect the identity of their confidential news sources from compulsory disclosure to state or federal grand juries. Dan was then retained as a Trial Attorney for America’s #1 Litigation
Law Firm on Wall Street, the firm of Cahill, Gordon, Sonnett, Reindel & Ohl where he carried those two cases, and other important First Amendment cases to the U.S. Supreme Court, most notably New York Times v. U.S. (the Pentagon Papers Case). As Chief Trial
Counsel for the National Office of the American Civil Liberties Union’s Rocky Mountain Regional Office in Denver, Colorado, Dan served as Chief Trial Counsel on numerous cases on behalf of Native American rights including as Amicus Counsel in The Wounded Knee
Occupation and its following trials…thereinafter being made Legal Counsel for the Native American Rights Committee of ACLU National. Dan also served as Special Counsel to the law firm of famed criminal defense attorney F. Lee Bailey during that firm’s representation
of Watergate Burglary wiretapping specialist James McCord – the man who “blew the whistle” on Richard Nixon and his infamous “Plumbers Unit” that led directly to the resignation of Richard Nixon as President.

After the completion of The Wounded Knee Case and The Watergate Burglary Case, Dan returned to Harvard University where he pursued his Masters Degree and then his Ph.D in the field of Christian Social Ethics and Comparative Ethics.

1:30-2 Paul Street: ‘The Authoritarian Absurdity of the U.S. Constitution’ #2

Paul Street on Why it Matters Today This is the conclusion of Part ONE of the talk by Paul Street, an independent radical-democratic
policy researcher, teacher, journalist, historian, and author of seven books. In this talk, that he gave at the Open University of the Left in Chicago in March 2019, he offered arguments and proof that the US constitution is not the sacred document protecting
the “Peoples Rights”, but on the contrary is authoritarian and anti-democratic by design.

After a summary from Part ONE the topics in this part TWO range from problems with impeachment, the Supreme Court decisions equating money with speech and with the Democratic Party neo-liberal tendencies. Conversely the formation of
a third party is also made near impossible under the restriction of the constitution.

However Paul Street says that electoral politics, constitutional interventions, congressional investigations and Muller reports are not the only or even the leading politics that matter. He ends with an enthusiastic endorsement of what
can be done. Among his recommendations: Take to the streets, go on strike, occupy workplaces, idle capital, besiege corporate headquarters, protest corporate media, prevent pipelines and ecocide. Form grassroots movements, defend immigrant, provide sanctuary,
oppose the racist police, learn from the Yellow Vests in France and the Extinction Rebellion in England, engage in civil disobedience, make movements fun again, hold workshops to show what capital and industry are doing to a livable ecology, – people are doing
this.

But, Paul Street concludes, we should also be calling for a new national government and a new national charter.

Paul Street’s essays and commentaries have appeared in a wide variety of media such as CounterPunch, Truthdig, Black Agenda Report, the Chicago Tribune, The New York Times, and CNN to name only a few. And he is the author of seven books.

2-3:30 Jack Kornfield, "The Jewel of Liberation" 10 of 10

For four decades, Buddhist meditation teacher Jack Kornfield has shared practical instructions for awakening the wise and compassionate heart in the midst of
all we experience. The Jewel of Liberation presents 10 pinnacle dharma talks (teaching sessions)

hand-selected by Jack from his personal collection to illuminate the pathways out of suffering and into the natural freedom that is both our shared birthright and our greatest gift to the world.

Reclaim the Seat of Dignity, Compassion, and Lovingkindness

Meditation is the practice of awakening itself; it is the fundamental tool the Buddha offered to quiet the mind and open the heart. We begin our retreat with
an examination of the art of meditation and how it empowers us to see things clearly and be gracious

with the flow of this ever-changing life.

The Jewel of Liberation continues with guidance in managing our troubles, the "weeds" that arise even as we cultivate the seeds of abiding happiness. Our retreat
culminates with an inquiry into the "laws of life," the understandings we must have if we

are to experience freedom independent of our circumstances.

The Possibility of Freedom Here and Now

"The sure heart's release is found nowhere else but in our own direct experience-for it is who and what we are," teaches Jack Kornfield. "The world so much needs
people who are free in this way, unafraid to love every being." Here is his invitation for

each of us to "be a lamp of freedom for yourself and for all."

Session 10: (concluding): "Freedom: The Way it Is"

What is freedom? The five rivers. True equanimity. Seeing emptiness. Letting go. Passivity and acceptance. Accepting dissatisfaction. Choice. Accepting
change.

12:30-2:30 The Gary Null Show – 2019 Earth Day Special

The demand for a new Climate Story — changing the narrative to confront our environmental threats

Charles Eisenstein is an independent scholar, counterculture speaker and author writing on themes about human culture, the climate and ecology, economics, the evolution of human cultures, and the spiritual challenges of coping with a society
and world in chaos. In the past he has taught at Goddard College, Penn State, and has lived in China. Charles holds degrees in Mathematics and Philosophy from Yale University and has been active with other visionaries to develop progressive models of business
and charity based upon a deeper ethical standard. He is the author of several books, including his popular “Sacred Economics.” His most recent book is “Climate: A New Story,” which presents a new narrative, a new ethos, to the conversation we must start in
order to address and prepare ourselves for growing crises due to climate change. Charles’ website is CharlesEisenstein.net.

The clock is ticking. Why is so little being done?

Dr. Guy McPherson is a professor emeritus of Natural Resources, Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Arizona. He has specialized in forest resources, energy decline and climate change and its economic consequences. In
the past he has also taught at Texas A&M and University of California at Berkeley. Having become disillusioned with the American university environment and academia, and after attempts by university officials to silence his outspokenness about the human causes
of climate change, Guy abandoned his tenured position as a full professor for ethical reasons of conscience. He is the author of several books, the latest co-written with Carolyn Baker entitled “Extinction Dialogs: How to Live with Death in Mind.” He is also
a co-host of the radio program Nature Bats Last heard every Tuesday evening at 3 pm Eastern time on the Progressive Commentary Hour. His website is GuyMcpherson.com

How are Earth is being assaulted by the pervading western myth in human supremacy

Derrick Jensen has become one of the nation’s leading voices of cultural and environmental dissent, who writes about civilization devastating impact upon the environment and the natural world, and our society’s denial of that fact. Utne
Reader listed Derrick among the 50 visionaries changing the world. In sharp contrast to environmental optimists who believe working within the corporate system will offset the tenuous planetary balance threatened by climate change, Derrick has advocated for
many years a “dismantling of civilization” which can include radical dissent as well as imparting wisdom to our children. Derrick has written many books influential books. His recently released “The Myth of Human Supremacy” may be perhaps be one of his important
that goes to heart of the rapid pace in environmental and ecological degradation. He also hosts a weekly radio program, Resistance Radio, on the Progressive Radio Network every Sunday evening at 6:00 pm Eastern time. His website is

WEDNESDAY NIGHT, MAY 1

FUND DRIVE SCHEDULE

12-1 Dave Emory, "For the Record #1062 - Socialists for Trump and Hitler (The "Assistance"), Part 2 (of 8)

We have wondered about the ascent of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez as a political
animal. We wondered whether she might be a "ringer," elevated and promoted by the far right and, perhaps, elements of the CIA, because she is ABSOLUTELY PERFECT from their standpoint. In fact, she is straight from the Amazon (ahem) mail order catalog: an outspoken
Latina who fits neatly into the anti-Latin bigotry institutionalized in Trump's GOP, brands as a socialist (perfect for the Karl Roves and Trumps of this world), has stated her intention to work against Democratic incumbents with whose policy positions she
disagrees, and demonstrated a lack of economic sophistication in her comments about Amazon's failed New York City Deal and in the presentation of the Green New Deal.

The ascent of AOC was effected in large measure by two overlapping organizations-Justice Democrats and Brand New Congress-both co-founded by Saikat Chakrabarti,
and Indian-American, Harvard-educated, Wall Street and Silicon Valley multi-millionaire, and fan of major Axis collaborator Subhas Chandra Bose. Brand New Congress was co-founded by a University of Pennsylvania-educated Turkish
American, Cenk Uygur, who has a history of denying the Turkish genocide against the Armenians, as we shall see. (Like Harvard, the University of Pennsylvania is an Ivy League School.)

The radical Democratic newcomers are precipitating a war within the Democratic Party, ignoring the fact that the Democrats retook Congress as a result of victories
by moderate candidates in districts taken by Trump in 2016...

Chakrabarti is fundamental to the rise of Alexandria
Ocasio-Cortez. Chakrabarti was AOC's campaign manager and is her current chief of staff. Both Justice Democrats and Brand New Congress donated a total of $900,000 to a consulting firm also headed by Chakrabarti.
Until recently, AOC sat on the board of one of them.

In a recent twitter video post defending AOC's mercurial social media activity, Chakrabarti appeared with a T-Shirt featuring
a picture of Subhas Chandra Bose, an Indian nationalist who allied himself with both Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan. He has a habit of wearing Subhas Chandra Bose garb...
