12-1 Rick Jarow, "The Ultimate Anti-Career Guide"
The Inner Path to Finding Your Work in the World'

According to the perennial wisdom teachings, your vocation is not a means of survival in the world-it is a pure expression of your life force. Vocation arises, not as a response to external forces, but authentically from within your own body.
To the modern mind, this approach to work sounds radical. But for more than 3,000 years, sacred traditions in the East and West have allowed vocation to serve as a platform for spiritual and material growth. The Ultimate Anti-Career Guide is the first audio curriculum that adapts this classic approach to right livelihood to the challenges unique to our place and time.
Based on the national anti-career workshops taught by Dr. Rick Jarow since 1988, this is the same life-changing program that has helped thousands of frustrated job-seekers open to their intuition, transform their values into action, and answer their true calling-instead of settling for a paycheck.
Traditional career strategies are simply reactions to the job market, Dr. Jarow begins-for example, matching an inventory of skills with the want ads. An anticareer is a manifestation of the unique blueprint for your destiny encoded in your body since birth. The key to this revolutionary approach is your body's chakra system, the seven centers that govern the free flow of prana, or life force, through your body. Through a program of powerful meditations, you gain direct access to your chakras, clearing and aligning them with the energetic forces that make everything in life possible.
You don't have to go out looking for a job, Dr. Jarow says. The job you were born to do will unfold in time, like a tree from a seed, as you let go of self-limiting concepts and open to the energy of creation-with The Ultimate Anti-Career Guide.

Session 8 : "The Seat of Prosperity"
'At Heart thou art." Giving, receiving, and the heart Chakra. "Interbeing" Working with forgiveness and acceptance. Three exercises to open your heart center. More.

Rick Jarow is a professor of religious studies in Vassar College, a former Melon Fellow at Columbia University and a practicing career counselor. His popular Anti-Career Workshops, which he has taught internationally, are based on years of research and practice encompassing both Eastern and Western Traditions. He is the author of 'In Search of the Sacred' and 'Creating the Work You Love.'

1-2 David Whyte, "Clear Mind, Wild Heart"
'Finding Courage and Clarity Through Poetry'

"In the middle of the road of my life, I awoke in a dark wood, where the true way was wholly lost." When you find yourself without bearings, as Dante Alighieri voiced so well centuries ago, where will you look for guidance?
Throughout the ages, teaches David Whyte, the language of poetry has held the power to lend us courage, to give us the vision of those who endured, and to hazard ourselves boldly at the fierce edges of our lives. On Clear Mind, Wild Heart you will join this acclaimed poet and teacher to engage with the poetic imagination as your companion and guide for the difficult terrain we are all traversing.
Poetry, teaches Whyte, offers immediate and powerful tools unique from any other tradition. It can help us to see beyond the fragile surfaces of our lives, open us to the universal cycles and patterns that shape our lives, and awaken our conversation with what has been called the Untouchable, the Numinous, or the Eternal.
Clear Mind, Wild Heart guides you into the wellspring of this living poetic tradition through six hours of exploration and poetry with David Whyte, including the verses of such inspired voices as Emily Dickinson, William Blake, W.B. Yeats, Marina Tsvetayeva, Rainer Maria Rilke, Antonio Machado, and others. Through their words, you will discover how to apprentice yourself to beauty and find a place of belonging where you can hold loss and grief, the challenges of change, and the wonder of new discovery and adventure.
The language of poetry takes us outside of our small selves and calls us to look at ourselves and the world with open eyes, teaches David Whyte. Whether you are a lifelong poetry lover or new to its insights and pleasures, Clear Mind, Wild Heart is an inspiring guide to answering that call.

1:30-2:30 Dana Ullman MPH CCH "Homeopathic Healing"
'A Practical Course for Learning about Homeopathy and How to Use Powerful Natural Medicines to Heal Yourself' Part 1 of 6

Your body is unique - and so is the way it heals. On 'Homeopathic Healing,' Dana Ullman teaches you how to interpret the subtle, personal symptoms of illness and engage the human body's vast capacity to heal itself naturally. According to our modern understanding of physiology, symptoms are not simply something 'wrong' with you, but are actually the body's efforts to defend and heal itself. Conventional drugs primarily treat symptoms and therefore tend to inhibit and suppress the natural healing process. Homeopathic medicines, in comparison, work with - not against - the body's self-healing efforts.

Homeopathy is a complete medical system that utilizes minute doses of plant, animal, and mineral essence to trigger the body's defense mechanisms. Much like immunizations, these substances help augment the body's natural ability to prevent illness, treat disease, and promote better health. Homeopaths match prescriptions to each patient's unique symptoms. They carefully evaluate the entire mind/body and view symptoms within this context.

'Homeopathic Healing' is an comprehensive course on the history, philosophy, and practical applications of this influential medical science. You will lean how to customize the major homeopathic remedies to treat yourself and others safely, effectively, and without harmful side-effects. Join Dana Ullman and discover these exciting insights into the healing process, as well as proven, practical ways to engage the 'inner doctor' within us all. (NOTE: The last time I mentioned my broadcast of this series, Dana Ullman said it was a bit old fashioned due to ongoing research and discovery, but was otherwise accurate) Originally published by Sounds True.

2:30-3:30 Tiffany Shlain: "Taking an Empowered and Creative View Towards Technology"

Tiffany Shlain is an Emmy-nominated documentary filmmaker, internet pioneer, and the author of 'Brain Power: From Neurons to Networks.' Her most recent film, '50/50: Rethinking the Past, Present, and Future of Women + Power,' debuted at the TEDWomen conference and is the inspiration for 50/50 Day, a global event devoted to bringing about greater gender balance in all sectors of life. In this episode of Insights at the Edge, Tami Simon speaks with Tiffany about '50/50 Day'—its origins, how it will be rolled out, and what steps we can take to ensure women have a better say in society. They talk about Tiffany's approach to encouraging social change through film, including the background behind her short documentary 'The Science of Character.' Using that film as a foundation, Tiffany comments on the difference between virtue and character, as well as why we should focus on cultivating our strengths rather than obsessing over our weaknesses. Finally, Tiffany and Tami discuss our current relationships with technology and why she recommends a "technology Shabbat" in which we spend 24 hours away from our screens. WEDNESDAY NIGHT, APRIL 18

12-1 Dave Emory, For the Record # 999 - “In Politics, Nothing Happens by Accident”: Weaponized Feminism and the #MeToo Movement, Part 2 (The Crucible)

“A liberal’s idea of courage is eating at a restaurant that hasn’t been reviewed yet.”–Mort Sahl.

The subtitle for this program comes from the play The Crucible by Arthur Miller. An allegory about McCarthyism, the play uses the Salem Witch Trials as a vehicle for illustrating the hysterical, unjust mode of accusation used against those pilloried by the anti-Communist witch hunts in early 1950’s America. Mr. Emory feels that the comparison with the weaponized feminism being used as a vehicle for psychological warfare and the (in some cases) unfair destruction of careers of those the right sees as obstructive is altogether appropriate.

Exemplifying this comparison is the use of malicious tweets in a San Francisco Chronicle story about director Oliver Stone’s caveat about the Harvey Weinstein case.

We reprint the comments from a trusted associate here, with a few minor editorial changes.

“Unlike Stone, we feel little sympathy for Weinstein and how ‘it’s not easy what he’s going through either’. Other than that, what he said is totally rational. ‘Wait and see, which is the right thing to do’.

What a misogynist! What, you don’t think that a loud and psychotic media witch hunt [hence The Crucible comparison–D.E.] isn’t the calm, responsible thing to do? Stone must be unstable! After all, he believes crazy things like JFK being killed by more than one person. As for the Playboy Playmate? Well, it wouldn’t surprise me if Stone did something like this (again…Hollywood), but with someone like Stone, who has been the target of CIA campaigns since 1991, I am not assuming anything.

Well, luckily we have calm, rational liberals on social media to apply some rationality and objectivity to this story! Twitter is such a (present participle, expletive deleted) sewer… Note the Ira Madison guy actively trolling for Oliver Stone dirt on behalf of Tina Brown’s Daily Beast. Man, some things never change… Got to love these journalists from ‘The Wrap’, they don’t even have to write anti-Stone hit pieces, they just go to twitter and copy and paste.”

The Crucible analogy manifests direct substance in the vicious tweeting that occupies much of the San Francisco Chronicle article. The program then samples the vicious, “Crucible”-like excoriation of long-time CIA target Oliver Stone.

We note that the Harvey Weinstein case is significant not because of what Weinstein appears to have done–with Oliver Stone’s caveat to be born in mind–but the timing of the surfacing of allegations which have been mounting for many years. (The cataloguing of those apparent incidents as “opposition research” has, in all probability, been going on for a long time.)

With the #MeToo phenomenon, in general, there is a conspicuous lack of due process. What vetting of the charges is taking place, other than public repetition via tweet? Of course, sexual harassment generally occurs with no witnesses other than the participants, so it is the aggressor’s word versus the victim’s. Still, it is a scenario that is ripe for exploitation in the context of the four “B’s” of American politics: Bullets, Bribes, Beds, and Blackmail.

A more circumspect approach would be to examine this from a counter-intelligence standpoint: What sort of political affiliations do the accusers have? Franken accusers Tweeden and Menz track to the right, and the photographic evidence does NOT hold up: The Franken “groping” photo is clearly a gag and the comically bawdy/libidinous aesthetic of the USO tour on which it occurred is obvious from the other photos displayed in the description for FTR #998.

The photo of Menz and Franken at the Minnesota State Fair (with Franken allegedly groping the accuser) took place with the alleged victim’s husband and father present. Menz and her husband voted for Trump.

No sale....

Furthermore, what serious examination of the accusers’ situations is occurring? Did they have large sums of money wired to their bank accounts? After lending momentum to the destruction of prominent liberals, is anyone taking care to examine if they then accept a lucrative arrangement (book or acting contract or well-paid corporate position) with a major commercial player?

We are not saying that any necessarily did, but is ANYONE doing due diligence on such matters? ...

2-3 David Swanson vs. Pete Kilner "Is War Ever Justifiable?"
Recorded in Radford, VA on February 12, 2018.

In 1970, at the height of the U.S. wars in Indochina Edwin Starr came out with his classic song: “War.” In it he asks, “War, what is good for?” And he answers: “Absolutely nothing.” Well, for the giant weapons manufacturing corporations, Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Northrop Grumman, Raytheon, General Dynamics and all the rest, war pays off big time. They make money hand over fist especially with their cost-plus contracts. And then there are the delays in delivery and technical problems. Whether they are F-35 fighter jets, stealth destroyers, Trident submarines or aircraft carriers, the Pentagon gets what it wants. And taxpayers foot the bill. Policy makers in Washington always come up with rationales to engage in war. Since 2001 the U.S. has been continually at war and it has greatly expanded the number of countries it is attacking. Is war ever justifiable?

This program features a debate between David Swanson and Pete Kilner. Swanson answers no to the question, is war ever justifiable. Kilner argues yes.

David Swanson is an activist, journalist, and radio host. He is director WorldBeyondWar.organd author of 'War Is Never Just' and 'Curing Exceptionalism.' He has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.

Pete Kilner served more than 28 years in the Army as an infantryman and professor. A graduate of West Point, he deployed multiple times to Iraq and Afghanistan. He is a graduate of West Point.
