MONDAY NIGHT, MARCH 19

12-1 Rick Jarow, "The Ultimate Anti-Career Guide"
'The Inner Path to Finding Your Work i the World'

According to the perennial wisdom teachings, your vocation is not a means of survival in the world-it is a pure expression of your life force. Vocation arises, not as a response to external forces, but authentically from within your own body.
To the modern mind, this approach to work sounds radical. But for more than 3,000 years, sacred traditions in the East and West have allowed vocation to serve as a platform for spiritual and material growth. The Ultimate Anti-Career Guide is the first audio curriculum that adapts this classic approach to right livelihood to the challenges unique to our place and time.
Based on the national anti-career workshops taught by Dr. Rick Jarow since 1988, this is the same life-changing program that has helped thousands of frustrated job-seekers open to their intuition, transform their values into action, and answer their true calling-instead of settling for a paycheck.
Traditional career strategies are simply reactions to the job market, Dr. Jarow begins-for example, matching an inventory of skills with the want ads. An anticareer is a manifestation of the unique blueprint for your destiny encoded in your body since birth. The key to this revolutionary approach is your body's chakra system, the seven centers that govern the free flow of prana, or life force, through your body. Through a program of powerful meditations, you gain direct access to your chakras, clearing and aligning them with the energetic forces that make everything in life possible.
You don't have to go out looking for a job, Dr. Jarow says. The job you were born to do will unfold in time, like a tree from a seed, as you let go of self-limiting concepts and open to the energy of creation-with The Ultimate Anti-Career Guide.

Session 5 of 12: From Feeling to Focus
Moving from the second to the third chakras. Tracing the thread of passion. Dealing with 'shoulds.' Two thought experiments. How to find your mentors. Henry David Thoreau. The emergence of ego and its intention. Those Baskin-Robbins times." More.

Rick Jarow is a professor of religious studies in Vassar College, a former Melon Fellow at Columbia University and a practicing career counselor. His popular Anti-Career Workshops, which he has taught internationally, are based on years of research and practice encompassing both Eastern and Western Traditions. He is the author of 'In Search of the Sacred' and 'Creating the Work You Love.'

1-2:30 David Whyte, "Midlife and the Great Unknown"
'Finding Courage and Clarity Through Poetry' Part 2 (concluding)

"In the middle of the road of my life I awoke in a dark wood, where the true way was wholly lost." When you find yourself suddenly without bearings, as Dante Alighieri voiced so well centuries ago, where will you look for guidance?

Throughout the ages, teaches David Whyte, the language of poetry has held a special power to hazard ourselves boldly at the fierce edges of our lives. On Midlife and the Great Unknown, you will engage with poetic imagination as it was meant to be experienced: as your companion and guide for the challenging terrain of midlife. Join this Yorkshire-born poet and bestselling author to explore:

Radical simplification-an invitation to sit in silent reflection and observation
Using your poetic imagination to navigate life's cycles of loss and joy
Honoring who you are right now, including your skills and limitations, and more
The language of poetry can emancipate you into the next phase of your existence, teaches David Whyte. It can help you break through obstacles and give you courage to take necessary risks. Drawing from the wisdom of fellow poets Rainer Maria Rilke, Emily Dickinson, and Seamus Heaney, Whyte invites you to boldly engage in a conversation with the second half of your life on Midlife and the Great Unknown

Part 2 (concluding) A conversation with the unknown future. The deeper wells of emotion. Life at the frontier. Cuycles of loss and joy. Full presence. What is my question? The radical edges of experience.

David Whyte is an internationally recognized poet, prose author, naturalist, and thinker in organizational leadership. He grew up in Yorkshire of an Irish Mother and lives in the Pacific Northwest of the U.S. He is the author of six plus books of poetry including 'River Flow' and three bestselling prose books including more recently 'the Three Marriages: Re-imagining Wind, Self, and Relationship."

Is the human body merely a complex biological machine, or is our health sustained by 'subtle energies' that can be guided for healing? These are the questions that are posed by the field of energy medicine. In this episode of Insights at the Edge, Tami Simon speaks with Joanna about hope in times of chaos and dissolution, as well as how hope is something we do rather than just feel. They consider apathy as a refusal to face the inevitability of suffering and why the state of the environment can be especially heartbreaking. Finally, Tami and Joanna talk about our relationship with the earth as a natural birthright—one that is actually the source of all our energy and joy.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT, MARCH 21

12-1 Dave Emory, "For the Record #995 - Miscellaneous Articles and Updates"

In FTR #967, we highlighted the Nazi group Atomwaffen, one of whose members was plotting an attack on a nuclear power plant. (The would be nuke terrorist was Brandon Russell, a Florida National Guardsman.)

New articles on the group disclose that they have been responsible for a number of recent murders around the country. More murders should be expected because Atomwaffen produces ISIS-style videos promoting mass neo-Nazi violence designed to sabotage and implode society.

FTR #888 details the work of Glenn Greenwald in running legal interference for the leaderless strategy advocated by the likes of James Mason and the National Alliance. Specifically, Citizen Greenwald freed up the likes of Atomwaffen et al from civil liability for their ISIS-style YouTube exhortations to violence and murder.

In FTR #437, we highlighted counter-culture fascism and the penchant of some to promote fascist outcroppings like the Charles Manson cultists to bohemians. Atomwaffen idolize both James Mason and his Siege newsletter and book, as well as one of Mason’s idols–Charles Manson.

Mason expressed support for the Nazi eugenics and euthanasia program. (We have discussed eugenics and euthanasia in numerous programs, including Miscellaneous Archive Shows M12 and M60, as well as FTR #’s 117, 124, 140, 141, 534, 664, 908, and 909.)

2-3 Joe Allen, "Vietnam"
Program #ALLJ001. Recorded in Chicago, IL on November 24, 2008.

All imperial systems attempt to reinvent the past, engineer history to suit their needs. The United States is no different. Vietnam is a perfect example. A war of aggression was transformed into a "conflict." It was "tragic" and a "mistake." At the other end of the spectrum, the so-called liberal Washington Post called the war a "just cause." That's the range of opinion in describing one of the major atrocities of the 20th century. The sheer savagery of the U.S. attack is forgotten. The war on Vietnam, later extended to Laos and Cambodia, included mass murder from the air and ferocious assaults on the ground. Millions were killed. About the agony and suffering of the victims? Virtually nothing. Reparations? Apologies? No way. And the architects of destruction, the war criminals? Held accountable? Trials? Jail time? Then as now, nothing. This classic from the AR archives marks the 50th anniversary of the My Lai massacre. Historian Jonathan Schell wrote that My Lai, “had come to be the rule, and not the exception, in our conduct of the war.”

Joe Allen is a contributor to the International Socialist Review and an activist in peace and justice movements. He is the author of "Vietnam: the (last) war the U.S. lost." From Alternative Radio, 1 (800) 444-1977, www.alternativeradio.org
